Question about 2002 Kia Spectra
After driving my car for more than 15 minutes, my car loses acceleration power and what use to be 0 to 60 in 10 seconds in now 0 to 60 in 20 seconds. where do i begin looking for the problem. it is a 2002 kia spectra with less than 100k and i bought the car for cheap about 6 weeks ago...
After 15 minutes the car should be out of what is called "open loop" mode, which means it runs off the computer. once warm it is in "closed loop" mode and is running off the vehicle's sensors. the first sensor I would suspect is bad is the primary oxygen sensor on the exhaust manifold. if it is not that, it is probably the coolant temp sensor or intake air temp sensor/maf sensor. likely it is the oxygen sensor, though, causing the car to run rich and therefore slow.
