Car boggs down...fuel problem?

Hello, My sister in-law has a 2001 Hyundai Elantra with 110,000 miles she just bought used from a dealer. It has no warranty. The problem is that when she accelerates, it seems to bogg down, then instantly picks up. Then repeats. I think it is a fuel issue, but it does not have fuel injection. I thought it could have been the fuel presure regulator, but when I looked it up, it seems that this car does not have one. Any ideas or suggestions?

2001 Elantra WITHOUT fuel injection? You are mistaken. It sounds like a BAD TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). Is there a "Check Engine" light?
If so, retrieve the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) and tell me what it is. Otherwise, you can go to http://www.hmaservice.com/ and register (Vehicle VIN) and you'll have access to technical info about the vehicle (manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, etc.). Please remember to RATE my response..... thanks.

I have a Hyundai Elantra 2001. The low fuel light came on and won't go off even though the car if full of gas.

If gauge still shows empty and light is on then inside tank there is a arm thats prob just stuck remove lower rear seat and will see entry to tank gauge has about 3 to 4 screws open and check if arm is down or floating .

2001 Hyundai Elantra

The turn signal switch is grounding out somewhere which is probably at the switch and may need to be replaced. That is laziness on the dealers part for not checking the obvious. Tighten the gas cap completely and drive the car 40 to 50 miles and if the system is sealed, the light should go away. Please rate me on this answer.

Pls i need to know where is transmision oil filter and fuel filter to change them car don,t run more than 30 miles, i,ve changed speed out sensor thanks in advance

The fuel filter is located just below and to the right of the master brake cylinder. You may need to remove the air cleaner assembly to get to it.

The 2001 Elantra does not have a transmission filter. Previous years had a spin-on filter on the top of the transmission.

2000 hyundai elantra gas gage stays o e fill it up one day the next after putting 40 miles on run out of gas . just bought it 3 days ago dealer will not do anything to help me get it fix.

sounds like a bad fuel sending unit in the tank, however , i find it hard to belive that the dealer wont take care of that, unless you bought it as is with no warranty, and no work promised

Car won't start

Check the Lemon Laws on your car, seems something like 3 repairs for the same problem with no resolution... Go online or ask the dealer and also on the back of every repair invoice from a dealer it should give the regulations for resolution and Lemon Laws... hope this helps... or simply take it to a different dealer for inspection...

How to change 2001 Hyundai Elantra GLS 4-Door Sedan Fuel Filter

If the filter is not at the tank, under the access panel, under the rear seat, then it is inside the tank.
