Question about 1996 Toyota T100
I have my check engine light on in my 1996 toyota t100. My buddy is a mechanic and he hooked up a scanner to the truck, it came back with a problem in cylnder number 3. About a year I had changed the spark plugs and in that cylner number 3 the plug was froze in their, so i lubed it up and got it out. My deal now is that it possibly froze again. I took off the air filter and noticed that an oily substance was in the hose going into the throttle body as well. What should I do, my buddy is not willing to drive to help me, so I am SOL.... I NEED EXPERT ADVICE PLEASE....and also is thier a way after I get the problem fixed to turn off the check engine light... THANKS AND PLEASE!
Clean out the throttle body with carburetor cleaner.you can buy in an air rissol can.Reason for plug freezing you have water entering the threads.Possable slight head gasket leak into number three,Try Disconnecting the battery and leave off overnight to see if that turns of the check light. If not get it cleared by a garage for a small price.
