Low beam lights dont work

Are you sure bulbs are good? If low beam are running lights as well, might be set in series. If one bulb goes out, no light at all. This was the case for a 2003 toyota camry. Was wired in series.

2002 mercury mountaineer fuse blows when i turn the headlight switch on

Short in wiring to headlights or if you look at headlight switch connection have found that the wiring is melted and shorted at that location.

Headlights do not work, but when I switch to brights they do

You can check the fuses and fuse able links for blown fuses also look at the wiring connection to see if loose or wire shorting out on any metal and if the connection is good and all fuses good then you will need to replace the headlamp bulb or bulbs. Most of the time only one side goes, very rare to have them both go at the same time. Check for a short in the wiring somewhere, that could cause them both to go at the same time. Hope that Helps

Headlights was shorting out now they dont work

I doubt that they were shorting out, it's more likely the main headlight switch is damaged from heat and this causes the headlights to blink on and off an finally not work at all. Remove the Headlight switch and then look at the large connector to it, it will be discolored from heat, replace the switch and the headlight switch connector. You can buy both parts from the dealer or in some cases better auto parts stores like Napa and Carquest. Do not use crimp connectors to install the new repair connector, solder and shrink tube the connections ONE WIRE AT A TIME!. Both parts must be replaced or the new headlight switch will fail in a very short time from overheating. If you don't have the skill to do this have it done, it is a safety issue.

Most of the time with a GM type vehicle to get the headlights off while engine is running and vehicle is in park you just have to put the parking brake on only a click or two. That or sometimes you have the ability to turn them off by the headlight switch which is normally turned to automatic. If you turn it all the way to the right it should turn them off.

Headlight lamp switch wires

as there are a number of wires, and you dont want to short out something shoul probably go to mitchell online and pay a small amount to get access to there repair info for your could also go to your library if you need to get it for free,it would take someone a lot of time to download this picture and info.if you have no headlights it could also be the combinsation switch behind the steering wheel, the dimmer switch, play with the dimmer switch a little to see if the lights come on, if so remove the plastic cover behind the steering wheel and remove teh two small scews that hold the switch on to replace it.

When i turn on my headlights it blows the fuse but all the other lights work till you turn on the headlights

You have a short to ground somewhere. I would start at your headlights and make sure the wires are in good condition. From there I would look at your switch since it's the most used in the system.

Keeps blowing fuse in fuse block ,burnt block and wire also burnt headlight switch replaced headlight switch and still blowing fuses lights will not work at all now

The positive wire in the headlight circuit is shorted to ground someplace, you have to check the wire by following it from where it connects to the headlight back to the switch and then to the fuse block

2000 honda civic vp keeps blowing low beam fuses left and right.

Fuses nearly always blow because of a bad earth. The switch only needs to short for a moment and the fuse will blow.

See if you can find a replcement swtich from a local breaker's yard or ebay and go on from there.
