Question about 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Alarm sets itself with doors unlocked

We have this problem with our 1996 Jeep Gr, Cherokee as the alarm is setting itself with the doors unlocked & the dome lights turn on by themselves while sitting overnite. Someone said it might be the keyless entry control module, so if this is the case, does anyone know how we might be able to disconnect this? same problem. i never had keyless entry remote, but auto locking did the same thing. i have stopped using auto locks and always do it manually with the key now. seems to have worked. can someone please just tell me where the FUSE FOR THE ALARM IS?? or if there's a way to disconnect the alarm entirely?

lock with key, electric door lock button,or remote and alarm will set. to disarm you have to use the key or remote to open it.the reason it woulnt disarm from drivers door is either the door lock cylinder switch is broken or the wire to it in the rubber boot that connects the door and the body is broken.
the remotes are cheap and programing is easy, procedure in owners manuel something like lock drive door with elkect. lock switch with door open then push and hold unlock untill doors unlock then turn key off.you may have to fix that drive door lock cyl.switch first though mabee not dont know for sure

Cant get 1996 jeep grand cherokee to start after alarm stopped

The alarm might have a relay to kill the ignition. Disconnect the negative or ground from the battery, wait five minutes then connect it again. This is to try and restart the alarm. Then lock and unlock the car to get the remote in sync. Try and operate your vehicle now and let me know.

Alarm goes off for no reason. 97 Jeep grand Cherokee.

There is a security system built-in to the Jeep Grand Cherokee during these years. The reason the alarm goes off is because of a change in the electrical system (like shutting a door) that triggers the alarm. To stop the alarm, either disarm with the remote or unlock the door from the outside with the key. This will shutoff the alarm.
