A car that cranks over but doesn't start, in many cases will be due to a bad fuel pump, a broken timing belt, an inoperative cam sensor or crank sensor. The first step in diagnosing a no start is to scan for codes with a code reader or scan tool. Approximately 40% of the cars towed in have either had a bad fuel pump or the fuel gauge read incorrectly and the car was just out of fuel in this . But since it runs and the #6 injectors seems to be the problem then it is most likely an electrical issue. If the injectors don't have pulse the engine won't start. Lack of pulse from the fuel injectors as stated before can prevent a car from running. Many times the cause of lack of pulse is because of a bad cam or crank sensor. If the computer doesn't see either the crank or the cam turning, the fuel injectors won't be commanded to pulse but since the other ones work, I would not think that these are the problem.

So then I would conclude that you either have a bad injector or that it is grounding itself so I would check all of the wires to it for frays and worn spots and if you don't find any, then replace the injector or switch it with another one to help narrow down if it is the injector or the wiring. Let me know if you have further questions on this.

My 95 Pathfinder has sat idle for a couple months and now it won't start.

letting a vehicle sit idle for months is not good !!! now you need to do some work, so get out your check book ! replace both air & fuel filters, replace spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap & rotor, add fresh fuel & fuel injector cleaner to tank @ same time. why are you going from accessory to run, that doesn't make any sense, stop it, please ! now get to work, good luck !

when you turn on key, do you hear the fuel pump run for a couple of seconds ? check fuses, & fuel pump relay,(it has a fuse also). fuel pump cannot be ruled out. next, your coil provides spark to plug wires, with an assistant, in drivers seat, pull off a spark plug wire from a spark plug, use a paper clip, insert into end of wire, with the helper turnning the key to crank engine, hold the wire w/clip about an 1/8 " from clean metal, to see if a spark occurs, wear gloves, or you may get jolted, if you know what I mean. if no spark, replace coil, I would replace plug wires also. remove spark plugs , if worn, replace. just do it !!! you need spark correct ? well then ! whens the last time you replaced fuel filter ? do it ! a new air filter will help also. air, fuel, spark all work together. go to parts store, if you can, see if they can pull any trouble codes . if you can't do the work mentioned above, it just might be your problem . now get to work , make it happen !!!!

95 Park Avenue Ultra dies for no reason I can find, I've replaced the crank sensor, cam ssensor, spark module, fuel filter, I've had the injectors tested, fuel pump tested, plugs & wires t

As you have probably figured out by now, you will have to treat it as a no start and troubleshoot it when it fails to start. Until you figure out if you are loosing spark or fuel to the injectors when the engine dies you have no direction to go in.

You've already eliminated the spark plug & wireset, distributor cap & rotor.
Sounds like your car needs a tune-up, specifically, the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve, and/of the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve.

Components checked/replaced during a tune-up are:
air filter
motor oil
motor oil filter
breather filter
fuel filter(s)
fuel strainer
PCV valve
EGR valve
spark plugs
spark plug wires
ECM or distributor cap & rotor
cabin air filter
transmission oil filter
transmission oil
engine coolant
check all vacuum hoses and lines

Troubleshooting the no-start condition - from the 1990 Mitsu Mighty Max Repair Manual:

You have two coils on this engine. Test each wire for spark with the engine running. You'll find at least one wire not sparking. replace the coil that has the wire that's not sparking.

Check for voltage at the plug, 12volts. Also check with a noid light when it is acting up. Wires tend to break right at the plug. check this to include pulling the wire and the plug. I've had them hanging together with just a strand or two and when it heats up it doesn't make a very good connection.

It sounds like you have a fuel issue or spark issue. Pull your spark plugs and see how they look. If they look fine then test the fuel pump. You could try to run to fuel system cleaner through the fuel system and see if there is an improvement in idle. Could be any of the following problems,

coil
spark plugs
spark plug wires
fuel filter
fuel pump
injectors
air filter

Check the easy stuff like plugs, wires fuel pump and air filter first.
