199 Ford Windstar smeeling of gas fumes

Someone tried to steal my gas about a year ago. The hose was reattached but ever since I get strong gas fumes. It only happens when it is hot outside 95 degrees +. It did not happen all winter but has started again with the hot weather. It is not leaking any fuel and the fumes are both inside and outside. The check engine light does not come on.

The pipe should be reattached with a steel pipe and secured very tight.A small leak you wont see.Thats because the gas evaporates very quickly,

I have a 2002 ford windstar sel that won't allow me to put gas in the tank. I was told it has something to do with the gas fume recovery part of the emission system ?

The pump is overly sensitive or you might try slowing down the rate of fill. Also try another spigot for the refueling.

Follow the fuel line to the engine. Look over the fuel rails and fuel connections looking for any cracks or breaks.

Strong gas fumes outside of car

Possibly the vent line that routs fuel vapors from the gas tank to the charcoal canister has come loose. Check the hoses and lines around the fuel tank for leaks. There will be a fuel feed line to engine, a fuel return line from engine, and the evap. line or hose that carries the fuel vapors.

Strong gas fumes coming from 2001 windstar

The "cause" would be a fuel system or EVAP system leak. If the fumes are that strong, then I would take the vehicle back to Ford again and make the sevice manager stick his nose in it and then tell you there is no problem....

When driving i can smell gas in my 2000 lexus es300

possibly your O rings which isolates fuel injectors from engine block are getting old and letting gasoline go out. it is very dangerous since it can cause fire. do not drive.

another cause is broken loose or cracked fuel lines. this is equally dangerous since it is under hood close to hot exhaust manifold.

if smell is from exhaust manifold, which means not the smeel of gasoline but exhaust fumes, this can be caused by broken exhaust manifold or a crack on it or problematic exhaust manifold gasket.

New batrery, no spark, no fuel. pulled front bank of plugs not sign of fuel or hear from spark. Just replaced a top coolant hose that was leaking. Engine turns over strong.

try swapping your PCM power relay with another relay in the relay box (engine compartment by the battery).
The PCM relay powers the fuel and ignition systems, as well as the PCM. Let me know if this doesn't work or you have more questions.

Gas fumes inside and out side the car when it is hot outside

Try having the area that the hose was disconnected from steamed cleaned, or go to a car wash wash and spray the area. It might help, that is if you already haven't done so.
