2003 Jetta 2.0 - "phantom blinker"

I have a 2003 Jetta 2.0 . There has been sort of a "phantom blinker" sound coming from the dash when the blinker is not even in use. It is not a constant problem but when it decides to go on for 10 mins straight, it gets very annoying. Any ideas as to what could be causing this? Thank You!

This is a known problem with these cars. The problem is in the combination switch (turn signals/wipers etc behind the steering wheel). When dirt and muck accumulates back there, it shorts the contacts and activates the flasher (even though no lights come on), and I agree with you: It's very annoying!
I recommend going to and search the forums for something like "flaky turn signal switch" - there is a whole thread on how a fairly handy person can fix the problem without paying the dealer an arm. Or a leg. (I emphasize caution when working with an active airbag though. Read carefully!) I'm going to be doing the same thing on my 2002 later this week.
Good luck.

Blinkers don't work: When I use my blinkers to

The right blinker issue sounds like you have one bulb out either front or rear check them both. The left blinker issue sounds like either bulbs(both out) or fuse, or worst case blinker switch has gone bad on left turn only so not picking up the signal.

I took my car in to the dealer to fix a blinker problem and days later, the dash clock is broken, the odometer doesn't work and the dash drive display is not working. how could this happen?

If the dealer had to go into any part of the dash, a connection could have been lossened ect.
Take your vehicle, and your invoice back to the dealer and explain your situation, BUT do not delay, they will want to know about this right away.
Please let me know how this turns out.

Jetta beeps 3 times while ESP light is on

Probably one of the ESP sensors have faulty connection. These sensors measure the speed of the wheels ,if they are not connected then ESP cannot work. For safety reasons the system will not start up and gives you this error message.

Bad relay?? electrical dash?? or possed by a evil deamon

It sounds like one of the filaments of your bulb has burnt out. You need to go to a local auto parts store and find the replacement bulbs (2) for your S-10 (#3057)

That is, thankfully, all you should have to do to be back to normal. When one of the filaments burn, the situation you explained is exactly what happens to the truck.
