Stated getting the service vehicle soon list, which according to my manual means something is wrong with the daytime running lights or turn signals. Turn signals are fine, daytime running lights are not working and last night noticed headlights are not working even when turning them on manually. What could cause this? And if it's the relay how do I replace it? well i changed my stereo in my 2000 grand am an must have shorted somthin out because now when i drive at night none of my dash lights come on i cant see how fast i go or nothin at also my break lights only come on at night if i press on the brakes can anyone help me on this please n thanks

I need clarification on 2003 Chev Malibu DRL problems:

That piece you think is a ceramic DRL module is a resistor , When in DRL mode voltage to the low beam headlamps circuit goes through that resistor dimming the headlamps from low beam to daytime running lamps . It sounds to me like you need a new resistor ,but without doing some electrical testing it could be a lot of things . The DRL relay in the under hood fuse box could have a problem , could be the BCM - body control module , the ambient light sensor etc... Here is how daytime running lamps work .
Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)
The ambient light sensor is a light sensitive transistor that varies its voltage signal to the body control module (BCM) in response to changes to the outside (ambient) light level. When the BCM receives this signal it will either turn on the daytime running lights (DRL) or the headlights. Any function or condition that turns on the headlights will cancel the daytime running lamps operation. With the headlight switch in the OFF position, the headlights will either be turned ON or OFF, after an approximate 30 second delay depending on whether daylight or low light conditions are sensed. The HTR A/C IGN fuse in the underhood junction block supplies ignition positive voltage to the daytime running lamp (DRL) relay coil circuit. The DRL relay switch contacts are connected to the low beam circuit. When the headlamp switch is placed in the OFF position, the BCM will either turn on or off the daytime running lamps, depending on whether daylight or low light conditions are sensed. The BCM energizes the DRL relay, closing the switch contacts and grounding the low beam circuit. Ground is provided at G101. The DRL illuminate the low beam headlights at a reduced intensity. The DRL will operate when the ignition switch is in the ON position, the gear selector is not in the PARK position and the parking brake is released. When these conditions have been met and the ambient light sensor indicates daytime conditions, the DRL will illuminate.

I have a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe a few days ago the car shut off then wouldn't restart battery was tested by 3 different people all lights, radio, chimes etc worked but when I turned the key I got a clicking...

You have one solution only

You MUST get into the service bay
& talk to a tech, not the service writer
out front, or the service manager in the shop

Your wrong & they know the vehicles they work on

It doesn't matter what the vehicle did since you owned it

They know the product & already have time involved to try
& help you,let them finish the job

Talk only to the tech that worked on it & bring your work order
Have the same tech continue to find & resolve the issue

The fact it worked one way since you have had it, doesn't
mean it did not have a problem when you got it & they are
trying to explain that to you

In the auto position you have a problem, as they tried to explain

Yes-- if it is dark or your in a shadow the lights will come on briefly,
not all the time,it has not worked correctly since you had it, or
someone is confused about how it should work

Yes it may be the wires are shorting or its actually the problem with instrument cluster.
Also get the vehicle scanned for any error codes stored in computer this will confirm whether is short circuit issue or actual problem:------

There is a symbol that lights up on my dash in between the mileage and the gear readouts it looks like a tranie or a motor, but i do not have a manual for my car and so do not know what the symbol means

orange would mean service engine, like the old orange colored service engine soon lights that are computer or emissions related. red would mean oil or engine problem. it's probably a motor symbol so we can dismiss ABS or other red brake light.
