Changing that pump is not all that difficult. Make sure you draw a picture of where the belt goes and just carefully remove anything in your way Loosen the bolts that hold the pulley & fan by leaning on the belt to keep it from turning, before removing the belt and make certain that you have removed all gasket material from old pump that remains on the block. Belt tension is controlled by an adjustment of the power steering pump.Any problems with install can be answered right here...It's far from a complex operation. I recommend that if it overheated, that you change thermostat as well.

I'm not really familiar with JEEP mechanics but if you've replaced your water pump and it's still overheating with full water/coolant level, you should check the thermostat; when it fails, it's a common cause or overheating in all kind of cars
I'm attaching some links to Youtube tutorial about replacing thermostat in a Jeep but you can expand your Google search using terms
Youtube replace thermostat JEEP Liverty
does the motor crank. if it cranks the starter and altnator are good. now when you turn the key to the start position do you hear the fuel pump? do you know if you have spark at the spark plugs
ok if the timing chain was bad it would not run. bogging down is from increased resistance from something. since you have overheating i would guess the water pump broke when you heard the sound. ther is a belt around it and that would cause this. since it idles fine i would wait till it is cold and open the radiator then run the engine and see if you see water moving in the radiator. if nothing after 10 min then i would suspect the water pump. watch that you don't overheat the engine doing this. that would cause other problems that could be more expensive to fix good luck
there aretwo fuse panels in this model car, One is under the hood on the right side ( passanger side) And the other is under the dash on the drivers side.
I suggest the public library. I have found it to be a great resource. Haynes published a manual for 1993 to 1998 "all models" # 50025 or search at the library for ISBN # 1 56392 315 7
No diagram but here is how it goes: 1. around the power steering pulley (going ccw) 2.under the idler pulley 3. over the a/c compressor 4.around alternator 5.over top of fan pulley 6.arolund crank pulley 7. over water pump, returning to bottom of p/s pulley. Running, the water pump should turn ccw.
sometimes to play a cassette, you got to put it in the oposite way to the tape run, depending which way your player is set inside. Try this. If it fails the load spring may be bust, new one can be got at a motor factors.
what i will recomend you is to take it to an autorepair for a coolant pressure test, this will tell you what is exaCTLY leaking and then from there you desire if you want to fix it your self or let some one do it,
