Question about 1999 Dodge Dakota

1 Answer

1999 Dodge Dakota dashboard not working. All lights are lit up.

My 1999 Dodge Dakota Sport v6 was working fine, then next time I turned it on all the lights on the dash panel were lit up. The cruise control light, gas light, parking brake light are all lit.(I dont even have cruise control) Turning the car off and on again does not fix it.
What could be the problem and how do I fix it? If it is a simple fix, what parts would I need and where would they be located on the vehicle?

I took the battery off after you recommended it. Nothing changed. New ideas?

All the lights remain the same no matter what I do. The idiot lights are on while I drive and when Im parked. The turn signal lights however do not seem to be affected.

Dashboard brake light on how do I make it go off

For your 1998 Dodge Dakota that has the dashboard brake light on all the time, first check your brake fluid level is within range. If it is and your braking system is working fine, then you will need to replace the rear wheel sensor. It is located on top of the differntial. You will need a wrench to unscrew the sensor out and then unplug and replace. Thanks for using Fixya.

The dash lights are not working and the left rear

check the main fuse box under the hood, also check that the left front turn signal to see if the bulb is blown, sometimes when only one bulb is working it can cause it to flash much quicker, also check all the wiring there could be a short circuit somewhere ,this can also cause this problem.....hope this helps.....cheers
