Don't use starting fluid. Is the fuel pump working? Can you hear it? I know it's frustrating, but hang in there. Fuel pump working?

After filling gas tank car wont start what could be problem?

If car was running normally just before filling tank, most likely fuel pump. If car is gas petrol and not diesel, to test bad fuel pump spray starting fluid in air filter box. If car starts and immediately stops is bad pump. If car still dosent start even with starting fluid be several possibilities; bad battery, starter, alternator, ignotion switch / key tumbler, or bad fuses. Battery, starter, alternator can be tested for free if can get to auto parts store, or aftermarket products like from harbor freight. If those still good check related fuses. If all good then to ignition switch problem which unless you are fully competent mechanic needs to be done by a professional

2004 Chevy Van 2500 turns over but wont start

Try spraying starting fluid into the intake. Remove the air filter to do this. If it starts for a few seconds then you have a fuel delivery problem. If it does not, then you have an electrical problem with the ignition. there are 3 things needed for an engine to run if it turns over. Air, Gas, Spark (fire). No air filter solved the easy air issue. Add starting fluid answers the fuel issue. Only leaves spark after that.

Ran out off petrol then we put some it but wont fire up

When a car runs entirely out of fuel, it sometimes leaves air pockets in the fuel lines. If you are a bit mechanically inclined, try using a starting fluid to get it running, and that should pull the air out of the fuel lines for you.
Starter fluid is sprayed into the air intake (not into the air filter, but behind that into the engine's air intake) and gives the engine something to use to turn over and **** some fuel through the normal lines. If you have not done this before, you should ask someone at an auto parts store how it should be done (when you buy the starter fluid) or have someone help you with it. Starting a car this way can be a bit dangerous if you are not sure what you are doing .. so be sure you know, or ask someone who does to help. Better to ask for help than burn off half of your face :-)

87FordRanger 5spd 2.9l. Bad starter. Truck sat for month and a half with very little gas. Changed starter for rebuilt. Put in gas. Motor turned over, but no start. Tried a few more times. No start. Last...

Your starter solenoid stuck on. (This may be internal to the starter). You need to replace the solenoid (or starter), then get the battery charged, and try again. If this has a carburetor (rather than fuel injection), you may need to prime it with starter fluid or a little gas in the throat of the carb (put the air filter assembly back on before you try to start it, you don't want to start a fire).

Won't start

When you put in the starter fluid does it continue to run after you stop spraying it in? It sounds like you have either a bad fuel filter or more likely a bad fuel pump.
