My 2000 MPV won't start now that the temp dropped below 0. It turns over but sounds like it's not getting fuel. Started just fine the day before the cold snap.

Probably starting fine now that the cold snap is over too. I'd guess you have enough water in your gas that as it turn to ice and seperates it is clogging your gas filter. The solution is when the weatherman says the temp will drop tomorrow, drop a can of deicer in the tank and drive around the block before you go to bed. Also add one every time you fill-up if it's below freezing.

SOURCE: Mazda MPV V6 engine noise

My strong guess without looking at it would be a cracked exhaust manifold, when it gets hot the metal expands an it doesn't leak.

I am having a similar problem and my mechanic thinks it's a fuel regulator. Part was ordered and it's being replaced this week. We'll see. Unrelated, I'm/we're having a heck of a time finding an oil pan...mine is very blistered....but it is 17 years old.

SOURCE: 1989 MAZDA MPV NO CRANK NO START STARTER TESTS GOOD.

Assuming you've checked the battery for a possible short and both the battery and the starter for loose connections, no click sounds like a faulty starter solonoid, which could work intermittently.

I'll start by saying folks like me that answer questions are all volunteers. Nobody gets paid. So we pick and choose the questions we answer.
I'm not sure I am following your question / story.
Are you saying the engine will crank but not start sometimes ?
Is the check engine light on when the engine does run ?
Have you checked fuel pressure with a gauge before and after cranking the engine ?
Have you replaced the spark plugs in the past 12 months ?
When the air temp is below freezing it takes twice as much spark and fuel to start a cold engine. So any little problem can become huge.

I think it may be an electrical issue but I think it's just a fuse. There are 2 fuses I would check. One of them is a 15 amp fuse inside the fuse panel inside the vehicle (see fuse layout below) and the other is a 40 amp fuse in the fuse panel under the hood of the vehicle in the engine compartment (see other picture below). I marked the fuses to check and hope this is the problem.

2000 MAZDA MPV TURNS OVER BUT WONT START. RAN FINE YESTERDAY. GOT IT TO START TODAY AFTER HOLDING GAS PEDAL DOWN BUT NOW ITS PUTTING OUT.

Sounds like you possibly got bad gas, or your at the bottom level of your gas tank and got the nasty stuff. Try running a good fuel treatment through the system and fill it up with premium gasoline from Marathon

if its been a while change the fuel filter and then have the fuel pressure and volume checked.these symptoms are very common for a fuel pump problem.

2002 chev. duramax starts fine when temp. out side

whens the last time you changed the fuel filter? ther maybe to much water in the filter and the tank, on warmer days the fuel maybe trying to seprate in the filter, when you go to start it you maybe trying to run it on water more then diesel. add a cetien booster to the tank of fuel you have see if that helps

Van just quit running one day and now it wont start at all. tank is full of fuel..

It could be your fuel pump, when you turn your key just befor your engine turns over you should hear your fuel pump engage, its a very faint electrical purr or buzz and a click its a very quiet sound,so if you listen for it the less background sound the better, and a AAA tow truck driver took a miny sledg hammer and banged around my gas tank under my van and it started up and I was able to get to a garage only to replace the fuel pump.Or you can wait till its dark out-side have someone start the engine while you have the hood up and see if you notice a spark anywhere, could be shorting out,or ive heard open your gas cap and try to start it,but im not sure what that would do.
