Hyundai Elantra brake and battery light on consistenly on car

My alternator has been replaced twice. and battery once. Car was running fine went to get gas car wouldn't start. Was able to get it jumped got it home and wouldn't start. Took the battery to get checked and have it charged now. my battery light and brake lights are on whenever I start my car. I also replaced the battery fuse hoping that, it would get rid of the light. How can I get those lights off or what could it be?

I recently changed the spark plugs and plug wires on my 01 elantra. Car runs fine but brake light and battery light come on at the same time when accelerating. What did I miss.

you need a new alternator dude because the voltage should cut off at 14.4v and should not get any higher the fastewr you go but yours is not doing that

Battery and brake light came on ,on my hydia elantra whats wrong

for the battery light, test the alternator. If you have a voltmeter, check voltage at the battery with engine running. Voltage should be at least 14 volts. If you don't have a voltmeter, take the alternator off and take it to the parts store for testing.

for the brake light--may be caused by the alternator problem, but at least check the brake fluid reservoir. If it's low, refill and check the car for leaks at the wheels or below the reservoir/master cylinder.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

I am having the same problem with my 2004 Elantra. I have had the alternator tested twice and did replace the battery. This morning I had it running ad put a volt meter on it ( red to the battery pos black to the engine block) I did get a reading of 14 volts for about 30 seconds then the idle lowered and the voltage dropped to 12 volts. I tried this again later but could not get a voltage reading above 12 volts with the motor running. Any suggestions?

2004 Hyundai Elantra problems after replacing alternator

Sound to me like some wires were either disturbed or crossed and are shorting out maybe when you replaced the alternator?Maybe have a look at the alternator connections again and make sure everything is correct and tight and that the new alternator is the right one for your car.Other than that its a case of tracing the wires from the alternator to the fusebox to find whats blowing your fuse.

I have a hyundai elantra 2001.. the brake light and the battery light both turn on.. what could be the problem...

Your alternator is probably not charging at full capacity. The brake light is next in sequence with the battery light, and will glow dimly. (Set your parking brake, and it will glow brighter.) I replaced the alternator, and cleared up the problem.

I had the same problem with a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. While driving to work as I pressed on the gas the brake and battery light would come on. When I applied the brake, the lights would go off. When I got to work I turned the car off and then tried to start it, nothing. The car made a funny sound while running and I could smell somethig smoking. I replaced the alternator and all is good again. When removing the alternator the bottom lifts off the mounting bracket, you cannot drive the bottom bolt back through the mount as I tried to. Simply remove the nut on the bottom bolt and remove the top bolt, then lift the alternator out.
