Exhaust smoke - 1994 XJ6 4.0

My 1994 XJ6 4.0 (114,000 miles) releases white/gray smoke from the exhaust pipe when starting the car in the morning, but only for a few seconds. depending on the length of time the car is parked(drive to work - drive home)its possible the car will smoke again. Owner changed the valve seals and problem started again 3 months later. Any clues on how to fix this problem?

Who or what shop would you recommend for this type of job (changing valve seals or valve guides- 94 XJ6)? Whats a good price range for this job?

When the valve seals were changed, Hennesy Jaguar of Atlanta put synthetic oil in the motor, could this have caused the valve gasket job to smoke again?

This is the solution I have for a similar problem. On my 1990, I found the seals keeping oil away from the spart plug wells that fit under the valve cover on the head were leaking oil. Some oil made its way into the spark plug well and leaked by the spark plug threads into the combustion chamber and burned....
It was most noticeable in the morning or first start of the day.

I changed those seals and no more oil top ups and no more morning smoke.....
    That's what worked for me.
I thought I had bad valve seals but the solution to my problem is above...its worth checking...

You have bad valve seals again and it is possible that the valve guides are bad ( to much play ) i worked for Jaguar 13 years and i have done 100's of these and very few needed guides it sound like the seals where not done correctly at the last repair.

is there smoke or white smoke coming from the exhaust pipe? Does the smell you are refering to have almost like a sick sweet smell to it?

White smoke came from the exhaust pipe and the car killed in motion. I check all fluid levels were fine, once i started the care again and proceeded the accleration was a bit rough. After a few minute

white smoke mostly is caused by over fueling so what i suggest you do is first of all check if there is no leak on the injectors and if there is none which means your valve sterm seals are damaged. When the head gasket is blown out you may have problems like :-loosing power when driving, over heating, idling problems and oil mixing with water, its not your head gasket.

Gray smoke from exhaust from 6.0 diesel

From my experience gray or white smoke means a blown head gasket. Check the oil and see if there is any water in it. You can also check radiator and see if there is any oil in it too. Hope this helps

Nissan Sentra 2000 model. Thick White smoke coming out of exhaust

White smoke is caused by coolant or water coming out the tail pipe. There is a chance that the white smoke was caused by water splashing up from a puddle onto the exhaust pipe. Keep an eye on the coolant level in the radiator in any event.

Let us know how it goes or if the problem persists. We're looking forward to how things go for you.

the white smoke is oil smoke, check your valve stem seals,if they are bad it will smoke till it burns the oil that leaked by when it was sitting.as far as it stalling in the morning check your choke it may need adjusting.
