Question about 1997 Nissan.5 Altima
Nothing to do with the head gasket, you have a short from the altenator or possibly ignition wires. If it works when you jiggle them around then definately trace the wires back and replace them. Or at least clean them up and insulate them with electrical black tape to prevent them from doing serious damage. I would do this right away man.

It sounds like you definitely have a bad connection somewhere. Follow those wires back toward the PCM and check for loose, broken or dirty wiring harnesses and wiring, and the wires connecting your fuel injectors while you're at it. Anything in those areas should be relatively easy to fix yourself.
