Car trembles while on Drive as soon as one halts by applying brakes

I have a 2000 toyota corolla ce and the motor is vibrating when car you have your brakes on while on drive. also,the check engine light just came on. the car drives great and I gave it a partial tuneup three weeks ago. I changed the spark plugs, oil, and filters. I tookit to one machanic who told me it was the motor mounts and transmission mounts which he changed but the car is still the same. Does anyone have any idea what this is. I also have the same problem with a Toyota Corolla 1996.As soon as the temperature level rises to above the 1/4 level while on Drive and I brake to halt, it trembles alot.I have asked my mechanic and was advised to change the engine mounts but even after that,it still trembles.Please assist

The most important engine mount for reducing vibration is the right front engine mount, which attaches the timing belt cover to the inside fender. Make sure this one has been replaced. The result is very noticeable. If defective or cracked, this mount can be difficult to diagnose visually, so usually it will still look ok even when it is not. In many cases I've seen mechanics replace only the front mount which is under the radiator - usually this does not give any appreciable reduction in vibration. The rear mount and left mount can reduce vibration a little bit further, especially when the car is in reverse. However the right front mount will usually take out 99% of your vibration. This is usually one of the first things I get done when overhauling a car for my rental fleet to Toyota Corollas.

Canadian parts differ from Us and Mexico. Using a US part will decertify Canadian motor vehicle standards. I wouldn't try using anything but Canadian parts

I have a 1994 Toyota Collora that shakes and vibrates when applying the brakes to come to a stop and when in idling. More so in the park than in the drive position. Car is a automatic, fuel injected.

They all do it, I believe it is in the torque converter. I own two and they both have well over 250,000 and I put some transmisson slip fix in one and it stopped it for awhile...however I wouldn't recommend any additives unless the trannny is really slipping.

My car camry 2003 runs well usually but sometimes the car trembles or gives trembling noise when the brake is applied.

will try to help.your front brakes and rotors may need replacement. when you apply brakes say,at 40 mph do you feel vibration on brake pedal or shaking in steering wheel? the vibration comes from worn or warped front brake rotors. while you have those rotors replaced,go ahead and have new front brakes applied also,or else you'll still have brake problems.always ask to see old parts when you have brakes and rotors unless you have a complety trustable mechanic! the rotors will be round and silver,a very bad brake rotor will have grooves cut in it.always shop for best price at different shops to get a picture of the price for replacement! do not be afraid to ask questions! front brake pads can cost anywhere fron $20.00 to $45.00 rotors can cost $40.00 to $50.00 each there will only be 2 rotors on the front and the brakes are complete for the front,both sides,on the front. as a general rule you'll replace your front brakes twice before you'll need to replace the back brakes because most of you stopping power comes from the front brakes. and as always,if you need further assistance please contact an expert!thank you for choosing fixya.com

Corolla 2000 brakes, I did change master cylinder,

System may have air in it bleed from farthest wheel to closest.
If rear shoes are out of adjustment re adjust them
Possible but most pads require a "bedding in" 20 stops 50 to25mph or so.

Corolla kicks/jolts when shifting gears.

I am trying to understand your problem. Check engine mounts. Have a driver in the car, hood open. Start car, foot on brakes, shift from park to reverse and back again. Shift through all gears, look for unusual engine movements around engine mounts area. Left foot on brakes, press gas in drive and reverse;watch for excessive engine movements. Be careful as you perform these steps. You may also want to check drive axles. Keep me updated.

Emergency Brake Loss

Good day;
After you put it all back together did you drive the car in reverse then apply park brake? If not give this a try, just use your hand park to stop the car, these should fix the problem,Let me know how you made out.

Cheers
