Question about 2000 Dodge Caravan

Engine sputters during accelleration

My 2000 caravan is spuddering when your try to accelerate or maintain speed going up hill. It has no trouble idling or when you rev the engine in park. It has done it a few times this last winter but had gotten better. to resovle it this winter I would just turn the van off and back on. It seemed like it reset a sensor or something. Now it is back worse than ever. The fuel filter was repaced last fall. The fuel pump replace a little over a year ago. The car currently has 207,000 miles and I am hoping to fix it rather cheeply. Anyone have any Ideas?

Why does my 98 dodge caravan have trouble climbing hills?

A transmission issue would give vibration tremendously during uphill. If you're not getting the vibration, or burning smell of transmission fluid, suspect clogged catalytic converters.

Hi, Sounds like a bad coil or a bad spark plug. Also check for codes on computer. (ECU.)

Why can't I pull trouble codes for my 1994 Buick

You need a specific adapter to scan your trouble codes. Vehicles prior to 1996 use OBD1 scanners, which are very expensive. Your best bet is to call around a few shops in your area and ask what they would charge to diagnose the code. It sounds like you may have more than 1 problem. The emissions could be due to a bad oxygen sensor and acceleration problem may be due to bad plugs, plug wires, clogged fuel filter, rotor and distributor cap, etc. Do a tune up on it, then see where you stand. At least you won't have to pay a shop to do it if that fixes your acceleration problem.

You are a 1990 Oldsmobile sihouette with a 3.1 these vehicle are speed density in other word you are equipt with a MAP (manifold air pressure) when this sensor fails you loose the ability to accelerate or hesitate as you accelerate make sure the vacuum hose is connected to it and it is no leaking vacuum if the hose is okay and it is electrically connected correctly your fix is to replace the MAP sensor

2000 passat v6; check engine light+spuddering when accelerating

good chance with that problem you were close most likely a misfire will cause that. it would be either your spark plugs or coil pack. also make sure your vacuum lines are good and air filter is good. also bad gas can cause that problem. the worst outcome would be your throttle body going out on you.

Engine ****'s during accel. and tranny shutters.

Check the fuel filter. Replace at about 30k. It sounds like low fuel flow. Check air filter as well.
