Power window won't go up or down without manual help
Mazda 929 Driver side power window won't go up or down without me pushing or pulling on window. Motor works, cable is in tact. Is there an adjustment or is the slipping going on inside the motor mechanism?

Re: Power window won't go up or down without manual help
You can adjust the window.....but that entails taking the door panel off, and the plastic vapor barrier, to gain access. then you can see the bolts for the track adjustment.........BUT....why not try investing in a can of Silicone Spray @ your local autoparts store....and spray the ****out of the rubber and felt in the channels, when the window is down??? Worked for me in my 35 years of journeyman auto tech experience......Have fun.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

You need to do a window reset. Its in your owners manual
This is a quote from the workshop manual
Note ? A driver side window will not fully close automatically under following the conditions: ? The battery has been disconnected during vehicle maintenance or for other reasons. ? The power window main switch connector, or driver-side power window motor connector has been disconnected. ? Carry out the following procedure to resume operation: 1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. 2. Press the driver side power window main switch and fully open the driver side window. 3. Pull up the driver side power window main switch to manual-up position to fully close the driver side window, and keep holding the switch up at the position for about 2 seconds to complete initial setting.
TWO-STEP DOWN FUNCTION OPERATIVE/NON-OPERATIVE SWITCHING PROCEDURE
Note ? By following the procedure below, the two-step down function is switched to non-operative when it is operative, and to operative when it is non-operative.
Turn the Ignition on Within 5 sec perform the auto open two times perform the auto close two times
turn the ignition off and within 40 seconds and repeat the above sequence.
The windows need to be re-learned.
- Park the car on level floor. Shift the gear lever to P or N. Pull up the hand brake. Start the engine.
- Sit on driver's seat. Lower the driver side window. Keep the button pressed for three to four Seconds after the window glass sits completely.
- Move up the window glass and do the same as above.
- Do the same with passenger side window glass while sitting on the passenger seat.
- Repeat the same procedure for rear windows one by one from their own buttons.
- Sit on a drivers seat and operate all the windows one by one.
If the problem persists, pull up the body diagnostic error codes with Diagnostic computer or re-learn the windows with the same machine.
does it click or grind when pushing window button if so the window lift track may need replaced, if there are no sounds then disconnect the wires from the lift motor and with the ignition on so power is sent to switch, push button and check wires to 12 volts dc. If no power I would replace the driver side switch after checking the wires for defects. If there is power then I would re-install wires to motor after turning off key and try button again with power on. replace motor if it doesn't work.
I had the same thing happen when I replaced my battery on my 2006 mazda 6. The program has to be re-programed and it is very simple. Simply push the window button down until window rolls all the way down, then pull up and roll window back up, but dont let go fo the window button for 3-5 seconds after window rolls back up all the way. This resets the program. Do it to both driver and passender side windows and do it with the key in the on position, but not with the motor started. Hope this helps ya
not a big problem if your handy its the regulator and motor you can get it on ebay for a good price! waiting for ups to del 1 know.got the same problem with the 95 929 that i just got .1 window was stuck in the back and the front drivers side makes a loud noise. got 2 of them for 110 bucks and put them in myself saved about 300 in labor good deal
SOUND LIKE POWER WINDOW MOTOR GONE.YOU NEED TO REMOVE DOOR PANEL AND USE A TEST LIGHT TO HOOK TO POWER WINDOW MOTOR WIRE CIRCUIT TEST LIGHT SHOULD LIGHT UP TO SEE IF ITS GETTING POWER TO WINDOW MOTOR.IF NOT GETTING POWER YOU HAVE A SHORT IN MOTOR WIRES.IF YOU SEE OR HEAR THE WINDOW MOTOR TRYING TO MOVE WINDOW.THE WINDOW GLASS REGULATOR COULD BE BAD CAUSING THE WINDOW IN A BIND NOT MOVE.
there should be a button on your driver side door that looks like a gas tank. Push that button, you should hear a clink or ting sound and look on driver side for the fuel door to be opened. If that is not it, open your trunk and peel back the carpet trim on the left side( driver side) clear away any thing in the way. There should be a latch, pull it toward you. Wear gloves and watch out for sharp edges. I hope this helps
You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle,
arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the
panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want
to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal
(can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to
access everything inside the door
