Next you need to check power and ground to the bulb sockets. i'm guessing that since you don't say you have any problems with your turn signals that they are working fine. since the high mount brake light is working you probably don't have a problem with the switch on the brake pedal. what is left is the wires and plug blocks between the brake pedal switch and the brake lights. they might be getting power but not ground or ground but not power, but they are not getting both or they would be coming on. start back at the brake light sockets and trace the wires up. you might have a plug block up underneath the rear end of the truck, if you do get someone to help you and have one person move the block while another person holds the brake pedal down. brake lights have power with the truck shut off, so do it that way with the truck in park so someone doesn't get run over or overcome by exhaust fumes or burnt on a hot exhaust pipe, and so forth and so on. if moving the block gives you an intermittent connection you found the problem. the only other thing i can think of is that something might be shorted in the block that lets you plug a trailer in but i think that would blow a fuse. if you ever use the vehicle to pull a trailer and so have used that block it might be something to think about. hope that helps

I had this problem on a 1997 Blazer I owned. Turn signals and tail lights all worked, as well as the third brake light lighting up during braking, but not the two main ones. Mine was a bad turn signal switch. They are not cheap, but it did the trick.

My left brake light/turn signal isn't working! I replaced the bulbs and turn signal flasher! Still not working! Its 2000 Chevy s10 blazer

If the other brake and turn lights are working the brake light and flasher units are ok . With a test light check at the bulb holder terminal and bulb holder body, test light should glow ,if not check from terminal to a metal part of panel away from the light body . If test light now glows the brake light body has a bad earth if the test still not glowing the power cable to the light is broken.

If the two rear brake light are working on each side, then fuse and relay are good, check the bulb.

Brake lights not working on 2003 E 350

Have you checked the fuse for the brake lights and have you checked the brake light switch.
The brake light switch is directly above your foot when it is placed on the brake pedal.

What do the relays and fuses look like under the hook of a 96 s 10 blazer. Someone said to check theses and how do you. My brake lights dont work and the 10A fuse under the dash is good and i replaced the...

Did you check or replace the brake light bulbs?
It is more common to have burnt bulbs than a bad brake light switch or blown fuse.
Do you have orange signal lights and red brake lights at the rear?
Then the signal light switch will not affect the brake lights.....but....
If they are all red and you use the same bulbs for brake and signal....the brake light wiring goes through the signal light switch and could be affected there.
First....check for power getting to the brake light switch......and leaving it with a test light.......then go to the rear....pull a light assembly and check for power getting to the bulbs.no power? follow the wiring back to the switch looking for a bad connection.
The fuses and relays under the hood are usually in a black plastic box labeled fuses and or relays.

2002 Chevy Blazer, rear brake lights do not work but the third light above the window does. Replaced bulbs and still not working I have the same problem got a fix it ticket the other.  Did you guys...

Trace the wiring as it comes from the laft and right brake light. May have to remove the brake light covers. Sounds like a crimped or shorted wire leading to the brake lights, possibly a loose or broken ground wire. One of the wires leading from the fuse block to the rear oif the vehicle could also have been damaged if the door sills have been removed by someone earlier to install things like speaker wires, etc. Also check to see if you have tail lights and directional signals.

When you replaced the bulbs did you get bulbs with double filiments - one acts as the tail lights, the other serves as the brake lights (both inside the same bulb). Compare the ID numbers on the bulbs with those which are required for this vehicle, but you should clearly see two different filiments inside of the bulbs when viewed from the side.
