Throttle body injection? If so, It should be cleaned that's thepart the pedal likage is hooked up to. Internally cleand all the wat to the air cleane. do not grease. grease attracts dirt and gums things up.r

Gas pedal sticks/hard to push when first starting to drive. after that it is normal.

You need to clean the throttle body plate and bore area. You can get throttle body cleaner at your local parts stores.Just remove the air cleaner and the boot that goes to the throttle body and hold the throttle open.Take a rag and soak it with the cleaner and start cleaning the bore and the throttle plate til the tarish stuff is gone. You should be able to feel the plate not stick by moving it by hand to the open and close position. You can also spray it down with the cleaner before you wipe it with the cloth. You can use brake cleaner but then it takes longer to clean and you have to rub harder.Throttle body cleaner works the best.Hope this helps.Good luck.

95 Bonneville won't start when hot

Yes I know, but If you hold the accelerator pedal to the floor on a fuel injected car, the Throttle position sensor will tell the computer to enter clear flood mode. Then the computer will shut off the fuel injectors while you have the pedal to the floor. If it is flooded, you should be able to get it started in clear flood.

"Sticky" accelerator

no, that's not likely the throttle body. start by looking at the throttle body though, if there are cables going to it that control it, follow the cables back, one should go to the firewall, and one should go to a little black box. that box is you're cruise control unit. chances are that is what's causing the problem (try a salvage yard, they're cheaper than a dealer). however if there is an electric motor controlling the throttle, you should take the car to a shop to have it fixed.
