There could be a couple of things going on here. that you have no power to accessories suggests that you have a bad ignition switch. some of the contacts in the switch are letting power through or you would not have starter turning over, but some other things are not getting power or you would have power to accessories. you might see if you have brake lights or hazard lights before you turn the key, those circuits should be hot all the time. after you turn the key to run, not start, things like headlights and turn signals should work. normally if you have starter turning over but no start you would look for fuel and spark but sounds like you have other issues that need to be addressed first. hope that helps

98 chevy prizm completely dead. Need to check fuse but don't know which one

You have to start at the battery. Is it fully charged? It should show at least 12.6 volts to verify a good battery. If it is less than 12 volts, it will not start the engine anyway, so it must be tested and recharged if good, or replaced if bad. Next the positive and negative cables at both ends of them must be clean and tight. By now you should be able to have headlights and other accessories. And the key turned to on should light up all the warning lights and gauges on the dash, and when turned to "start", the engine should be cranking over and then run.

If the car is completely dead, start at the battery. If you still suspect fuses, next check all the maxi fuses- the power distributors right after the battery. Only one of them would cause whole differing circuits to not have power.

Battery keeps going dead

Does it go dead after sitting for a few hours? Once started and driven for several miles will it restart if the engine is shutoff? If the battery goes dead only after sitting for a while with the engine off, you probably have a bulb or some accessory that is draining the battery.

Battery in my 98 chevy suburban keeps going dead despite I've had it tested 3 times and all three say its a good battery

Are any lights or accessories on that could cause a battery drain Are you testing it immediately after charging? This will give you a false reading, let the battery stand for a while then test. You may have one or more dead cells. The battery will show its Ok but in reality its pouched! Head on down to your local Canadian Tire and get a new one.

1998 chevy lumina want start changed starter and battery still want start turn key car dead want turn over can start with jumper swicth but want stay running

Have your alternator tested.Your car will not stay running if the alternator is not producing enough power to keep the battery charged. Also have your battery tested and fully charged.Make sure your cables are in good shape.

When I try to start my 93 Ford F250 4x4, when the key gets to the on position there is power when I turn it to start everything goes dead. It will start if the Key is on by arching the solenoid. I have...

If you have to arch the starter solenoid then its your starter goinng bad. It would be a good idea to also get your batterie tested to make sure you have all your bases covered.(starter & Batterie can be tested at your local parts store)

Loss in fuel pressure

Need a new battery first, or charge the battery...if the battery is over 3 years old, I would just replace it, also may need a higher output alternator with more amps, to run the electronic fuel injection, fuel pump, and ignition etc...

Make sure you have continuity of your circiut. Sounds like it could be your ground is bad. Unhook your battery and check across the battery leads. Check where ground cable is connected back to the truck.
