My SUV is in 4 wheel drive. I am putting it in neutral and turning the knob to 2 wheel drive. However it will not go out of 4 wheel drive. I really need help, can you help me?

Pull the lever from 4HI to 2HI and you're good to go. It'll take a couple of seconds for the actuator on the front axle to disengage and maybe even some driving, its not a problem though. 4LO is a different story, I usually get up to about 3 mph, put the tranny in neutral, and then shift into 2HI, it makes less weird noises that way :-P Do it in one swift motion though.

1997 chevy k1500 4x4 Makes a weird noise when in 2wheel and goes away when in 4 weel drive. Noise is in right front. transfer case location.

most likely a thrush washer is at fault since the 4x4 kicks in for you
Have a trans shop give you an idea how much to repair before you grind this thrust washer to bits

I got my 2002 chevy blazer with ZR2 package into deep water and shorted out my 4 wheel drive control module (located under the kick plate on the passenger side). I took the module out and had it replaced...

what sounds like is happening is the front end is not disengaging, it will not hurt it to drive without the module, but you need to find out why the front diff. actuator is not releasing. their is a shift motor on the transfer case, module and switch in the cab, and actuator on the front diff. all are susceptable to water, I would suggest getting a manual on it to aid in diagnostics

Noise in front end 2002 zr2 blazer

Two things maybe your problem:1 .Front axle actuator to engage 4wd is not releasing. 2. Front axle u-joint needs replacing. Lift car on jacks with front end off ground. Then spin tires by hand as fast as you can and see if you hear the noise and where it is coming from ( spin in both directions).

My 2000 zr2 blazer wont go into 4wd wheni push the button, the light just blinks, and i hear a clicking noise from behind the glovebox

If it's like any other Blazer, a possible simple fix is to disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes. That resets the computer system. It worked for my Blazer. I had the same problem. Mine went into low range, but my front axle wouldn't engage. So give it a try. The only thing you'll mess up is the clock in the radio.

2001 f250 4x4 fuse number?

Check fir worn cv axles some times when off the gas will makes noise as will bad wheel bearings both easy to check... But possibly based on miles uout transfer case may be worn or need service.. Front end work can often rid if these odd noises.. 2001 not that old would chrck for codes see if input, output sensors on trans ot transfer case needs service.. Many time can take sensor out remove metal shavings as the sensor most of the time is manget as things wear dowm sensors sometimes dont respond as they should.. But take look at axles if there play due to age the may hum whem coasting... Check blog got common problems to your vehicle they all seem to have samr general problems with age.. From make to model see what others but be careful with YouTube has more not too do s

Push button 4 wheel drive won't engage.

If it doesn't do anything at all, then start basic with electric power verification. If it blinks and goes back to 2HI, then most likely "Front Differential Actuator"..Not "Vacuum actuator"
