Car jerks when shifting

Hi, first thing is to check the tranny fluid, it might be low. Second is to change the tranny fluid and tranny filter and if it still does it after that, then it is an internal problem with the tranny which you need a tyranny specialist to check and fix.

you sound like you know what you are doing so excuse me for thinking out loud-if it were me, I would really carefully check the cable and the pawl to see that it is adjusted properly-because it sounds like either that or possibly the harness is not connected or there is a wiring problem.

First change tranny fluid and filter. Check the tranny mounts and motor mounts. The GM's also have an automatic torque converter clutch circuit that can cause problems just like this.

2004 impala jerks into first gear sometimes. steering wheel whines. I had transmission flushed. Is the tranny going out. I read many reviews that says it is Thanks

The 2 aren't connected to each other. Tranny flushes are NEVER good. Have it checked for codes. Code 1811 (EPC) VERY common in those trannys cause hard shifts.

all of the shifting solenoids are in side the tranny, by the sounds of if you might be able to try a service on the tranny, new filter and fluid might help alot. try that first before spending alot of money.
