Question about 2008 Dodge Ram Pickup 1500
When we hook the rv trailer to the pickup it blows the 40amp trailer fuse. All lights work on the truck, we have brake lights and turn signals on the trailer but no running lights on the trailer and the brakes lock up on the trailer as soon as you put the truck in gear and start to go forward. We have hooked the pickup up to another rv trailer and it does the same thing.
The truck is protecting itself from the load impose by the trailer.. Chk the plug on the truck for wire gauge size. Turn any electrical loads off on the trailer, any and all. If fuse still blows then the fuse is either underated or the trailer has a dead short. In fact turn trail main power panel of. All lights work you say. So ck the inverter for defect byturning off the inverter on one of the trailers.

There is a short in the running light circuit in your trailer. In my experience most likely one of the cheap trailer side marker lights has come unplugged and the loose wire is shorting out. For some crazy reason the 12 V leads to these lights have male ends so when they come unplugged they short out to the trailer frame. Pop off all your amber side marker lights and check em.
