SOURCE: burned out headlight/bulb bmw 1991 325i 2dr

It's a bulb replacement. If it's anything similar to my Audi, there is a cover on the back of the headlight housing that you pop off. Then you can reach in, pull the wire connector off the bulb, and unclip a metal retainer over the bulb, and pull the bulb out. Installation of the new one is the reverse. Just be SURE not to touch the glass part of the bulb. Skin oils can cause a halogen bulb to burn very hot and burn out very quickly. If you do touch the glass, wipe it gently but thoroughly on a cotton cloth to clean it off before you install it.

SOURCE: xenon headlight problems

there are 3 things that make the xenon in your car work the bulb, an ignitor, and a control module, you know your bulbs are ok so thats good, now you will want to swap the control modules they are a metal box attached to the headlight assembly its roughly 4"x4" you will remove the hheadlight assemblys to get to the module, there are 4 8mm bolts and then it pulls out, it the light follows the control module then thats what you will need if not you will need an ignigtor, as far as the flickering that is moet likely the module going bad, the company that makes this system is AL (automotive lighting) there is an SIB from BMW about this that says under a warr claim both control modules are to be replaced and the bulb of the faulty headlight, however i cant count the number of times i have done all that and still have to replace the ignigtor, If it is the Ign that is alot harder to swap as you have to dis assembly the entire light assembly

SOURCE: My son's 2002 BMW 745LI, Zenon type, left side,

well can be one of the 3 components in the zenon lights system, the first thing to check is the bulb, be careful dont touch it with bare hands , second thing is the Burner electronic Item and the last thing is the Module ( electronic ) your best option is to take it to any bmw authorize delaer , i had the same problems and was the module, the previous owner use to wash the engine and water got inside de module , i replace the module , the burner the bulbs ( 4 of them ) at a 950.00 cost from dealer., is not cheap, dont buy zenon buls at regular autoparts are not BMW factory item the durabily and the light system is made with cheap and low quality materials. if you have a Bimmer keep it right !

( 2003 BMW Z4 )My right side headlight does not work. I changed the bulb still not working. What could be the problem? The mechanic says I should get a whole new unit that runs at about 1200 at a junk yard...

replacing the headlight unit will not solve your problem since your problem is about electricity.

try to search for a relay or fuse for your headlight, most likely you will see a relay since there is only a single fuse for both headlights. meaning of this fuse blows off, both headlights will not turn on. relays are attached to each headlight, so if one goes off, the other one will still work.

if this does not solve your problem, have an electrician check your headlight wiring connections.

I have a warning that indicated left low beam malfunction. How do I resolve this issue.

  • It means the low beam is out on the left side of your vehicle. You will need to replace the bulb and things will be back to normal.
  • Changing the bulb on this vehicle is more troublesome than most vehicles.
  • I think on the 2006 750Li you have to actually loose the bumper a bit to get to the headlight to wiggle loose. Some of the newer BMW's are made so the bumper comes up on the bottom of the headlight assembly just enough to make the bumper have to be loosened to be able to get the headlight assembly out enough to change the bulb.

I HAVE 1999 BMW 323I AND THE PASSNGER SIDE HEADLIGHT WAS FLASHING EVER FEW MINUTES UNTIL IT STOP WORKING AND NOW THE DRIVER SIDE IS FLASHING EVER FEW MINUTES

it's only a bad bulb, they do that sometimes,i always replace both headlight bulbs when one goes bad.because they often follow each other, when one goes, the other not too far behind it.the elements in the bulb itself are making contact and then not making contact is the reason behind the flashing.replace both headlight bulbs and you're problem will go away. thank you for choosing fixya.com

How to change a marker light bulb

to change the turn signal bulb on the headlight there is usually either a screw or tab that releases parking light lense from headlight. to just completely remove the headlight there are the two screws up top and also two lower if we are taking about the right side(drivers side, standing in front of vehicle) one of the screw is to the right side down near the inner fender, it is even with the bottom of the headlight. the other screw can be seen between the headlight and the radiator support about in the same area just opposite the other side. take a flashlight with you, not too hard to see
