Question about 1995 Ford Contour
Need to position the cams to install the timing belt how do i set the cams
If you look at the back edge of the camshafts you will see a slot, this slot is off center on the shaft end, you are supposed to use a special tool and turn each shaft to where that slot is flat across the cylinder head, then insert the tool (flat piece of steel) into the slots, the tool hold the cams in place while you reset and put on the belt. You can find this diagram in any Haynes or Chilton manual, availiable at your local parts store, autozone should be able to print it out for you from AllData for free, hope this helps, let me know
