Question about 1999 Mazda Millenia

VGR valve My Mazda 99/Millennia has been now 110K on mileage. After replacing a distributor, it runs OK but the engine check warning light still goes on and besides, it smells very bad. Friends said it was caused by the malfunction VGR valve. Dear experts, could you tell me? where is the VGR valve located, can we DIY? and how much does it cost to replace?

Sound like you are talking about the EGR valve there, car smells like gasoline is not burning right, when you look at the label under the hood you will see the vacumm system label next to the belt an automaker labels, it will give you the location of your EGR valve right in there

Does worn out rings cause a Mazda 626 Cronos V6 not to idle

It could but if its that bad you'd be burning a lot of oil and overheating. After changing all the filters and the PCV valve next would be to look into the EGR system. If your EGR hose is clogged it will cause revving and hesitation, uneven idle and often no check engine light. The other thing could be the camshaft position sensor needs replacing. Its typically in the distributor under the cap or hanging on the outside of the distributor. Usually the check engine light will come on if its the camshaft position sensor. Its worthwhile to check for engine codes even if your check engine light isn't on.

The check engine light is a warning to the driver that the computer has found something that could affect engine performance or emissions, including gas mileage.
You would need to get it scanned again and use the code or codes to find the problem.

The malfunction VGR valve

Its an EGR Valve, thats exhaust gas receycler, it basically forces any unburnt fuel from the exhaust back into the engine to reduce the emissions output, you can clean this part and they sometimes are ok agaian, not always but certainly worth a try as a new one is about £90--£150 depending on the make.

Get some carb cleaner and blast it through clean the wire connection to it also.

When the engine light is on you will find it very difficult to get any power, and will really struggle on hills, you can repair this your self it's very easy.

If you need any help please let me know

2000 millennia Heater problem

make sure your coolant fluid level is good, than check the valve that controls the amount of coolant that flows to the heat exchanger inside your dashboard, make sure it is wide open. (find it by having someone inside the car move the heat control from hot to cold and back while you are under the hood looking for the valve. Sometimes the cable that goes from the dashboard heat/temp control to the coolant valve comes off.
