Brake Lights are not working on 2007 Chevy Colorado

I have a 2007 Chevy Colorado 2 door pick up. The brake lights quit working - the bell quit dinging to let you know the keys are still in the ignition - I can start the truck without pulling down the signal handle. All fuses have checked out good. The only thing that has been done lately is the radio was switched out but all of this was working after the switch out.

Any ideas????

Thank you

Hey, (1) I've got an '08 Colorado and they sent me a RECALL NOTICE regarding the brake light failure. You might just get yours fixed for free if you take it up with your dealer.
(2) According to the OWNERS MANUAL the stock RADIO is integral to the chime alarms AND the diagnostics on your instrument panel. If you replace the radio, it must support the GMDelco requirements or you will have problems.
That's all I've got, good luck.

this sounds like you have a ground issue either with one of the brake lights or the running lights, check all your sockets for bad ground wires.

Reverse and interior lights out, chevy express van

Fuse block under the hood. Driver's side, under the brake master cylinder. Number 18. TCB#2. Replace the fuse.

There is an under-engineered ground in the reverse circuit. If you back up with the dome lights on, it could blow that fuse. There should be some extra fuses under the cover of the fuse block.

Door locks and power window

Just did this procedure I got from coloradofans.com forums:

"any type of power/voltage change seems to trigger this issue

The most common symptom is power locks fail and only the driver window quits, however that is on the extended cab.

Steps to fix and it works every time.

take door panel off driver's door
Disconnect the wiring attached to window and power lock control unit
disconnect battery cables
connect the negative to the positive cable(((NO BATTERY CONNECTED)))
This will act to short residual voltage in the system

5 minutes later
place the key in the ignition and turn to the run position
connect the wiring to the window/lock controller
connect the negative cable to the battery
then the positive
open drivers side door
turn key to the off position((do not remove yet)) you should get a series of dings through speakers telling you the key is still in the ignition
once it begins dinging pull the key out and you should hear the door lock solenoids trigger and the windows should work." - Coloradofans.com forums

Seriously annoying and hazardous malfunctions from out of the blu

You need a door pin switch in the drivers door. It must have gone bad, and this is very common. Usually it is hard to find out what door it is that is causing it, but in your case with the dinging bell- it thinks the drivers door is open- thast why the dome light stays on. The door pin switch is a little sensor that is installed on the latch assembly with a wire going to it and it is supposed to sence if the door is open or closed and turn the dome light on/off. you have to remove the door pannel and reach back to the latch. They are VERY tricky to get out without taking the whole latch assembly out. The part shouldnt be that expensive though.
