This does not sound like a fuel filter problem. Clogged or faulty fuel filters are consistent in nature, regardless if the motor is cool, warm or hot. This sounds like a temperature related issue. if you have to let the car sit for 30 minutes or so before the car will start again, this mean the car has to drop below a certain temperature before the faulty part will work again. If the CPS (crank position sensor) is going out, this will cause the symptoms you have described above, but it won't send a code to your ECC (electronic computer control). Did your check engine light come one? Also, have you had any parts replaced recently or have you gotten the inside of the engine compartment wet (ie car wash)?

Lookfor a light on the dash that says SECURITY or ANTITHEFT. If you see this light, that is a sign of a failed or failing antitheft system, which will disable your vehicle. This link explains

I have 97 camaro it starts and drive fine but when i shut it off it wont start back up until it sits for a few hours?

We had a problem like this in our 97 Camaro with the V6. It would run fine until my wife went somewhere with it, parked it and then wouldn't restart. When it would sit for about an hour then it would start again. It turned out to be the crank position sensor, when the electronic part of it got hot enough it couldn't sense correctly and tell the computer how to time the spark. All it would do is crank without firing. So once we had that sensor replaced it ran good again. Good luck I hope this helps! I'm on to the next problem it's having, an occasional battery drain and a radio and electric windows that die when they want to and come back later. BuzzieTN
