Question about 2006 Hyundai Accent

2009 Hyundai Accent starter motor doesn't turn off

I have a new Accent with 3400km - started no problem, heard a very strange noise turned off the car but the starter motor kept going! Took the keys out of the ignition, popped the hood and the starter motor kept going and making a very high pitched noise. I had to disconnect the battery to make it stop, reconnected the battery and the starter motor turned on again. Anybody ever hear of this happening and what is the problem? Faulty motor, electrical problem? Had the vehicle towed to dealership-haven't heard from them yet. Has this happened to anyone?

Sounds like the solenoid. You know you have Roadside Assistance with your new Hyundai. Have it towed in and get it diagnosed & repaired under warranty.

Sounds like the solenoid on the starter going bad, but try cleaning your battery post connections first , have battery tested at auto parts store for free.

Accent vibrates on start

I had a rough idling motor and the dealer replaced a coil in the ignition. The "check engine" light was on. Ran only on fewer cylinders.

My 1995 Hyundai Accent, 1.5 engine, 4 door base won't start. I have a new battery and fuses. The horn works and all the lights come on. When I turn the key it makes no noises at all not even a click sound....

Possibly the starter motor. It is bolted at the rear of the engine to the gearbox. While trying to turn over the engine, get someone to strike it with a hammer or a block of wood that will reach it.Usually this will allow it to work again. If this works have it removed and repaired/replaced.Quite common for the brushes to wear out in them.If no luck, get a test light.Earth one end and the other probe into the little wire that goes onto a terminal on the starter motor solenoid.(be careful not to touch test light probe to the large lead end as it carries the battery current to the starter motor and will arc out
.When you turn the key to start it should light up the test light, indicating a faulty starter. If it doesn't light, recheck your ignition fuse again or the switch on your clutch pedal if it is a manual gearbox.
I hope this helps, get back to me with your findings.

My hyundai accent wont start i need a starter relay i think i try to start it but no noise comes out exect a hum from the relay idk what to do but i have to get it fixed

dear friend:the starter relay will only click when you turn the key to the starting position.if the starter relay does not click check for power to and from the relay.also check if you got enough battery power,if all of this is ok then the starter is faulty.
