Question about 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

1 Answer

I have a squeaky sound coming from my back left tire on my blazer. It doesn't happen all the time just it seems when the ride is a little bumpy and it doesn't last. I could park my car and get back in

I have a squeaky sound in my 2000 Blazer and have been told different things, and have spent more money than I can afford already. Help please! I have a squeaky noise on my 2000 blazer. It sounds like mine is coming from the back left tire. It doesn't do it all the time and when it does do it, it doesn't last long and then I won't hear for awhile then especially if the ride is a little bumpy it comes back.

Have you replaced the rear shocks?

  • carhob May 11, 2010

noises are sometimes hard to find without being able to inspect it,but i can give u a few hints, could be a shock bushing,a leaf spring cushing that fell off or a rear bushing on sway bar link thats worn, what u can do is push down on rear bumper a few times to see if itll make the noise and pin point it.

I heard something snap and then noticed that the rear of the car drives very bumpy

Can you provide more info? Did you hit a bump? What do you mean by 'drives bumpy?' Does it ride rough, or does it go up and down a lot after you hit a bump, or something else? Can you further describe the snap you heard, and what was going on when you heard it and immediately afterward (e.g., driving 40 mph on a paved road, hit a pot hole, heard a loud 'breaking' sound as if something snapped/broke, and the ride of the car seemed to immediately change to being more harsh/rough)? Have you had any work done recently, such as tires changed or rotated, struts replaced, wheel alignment, or brakes replaced? Did anything else change (e.g., now when you hit a bump, you hear a new noise in the rear)? Were you carrying anything heavy in the trunk or back seat? I had a '99 Corolla for several years, and had zero problems other than a worn out driver's door handle and a couple of cracked windshields. Great car choice!

If you hear a clacking sound esp. while turning. Sound like your CV joints (constant velocity) or Front Wheel Drive axle.

Hi i have a 2007 Saturn Aura Xr witch i love ,the ride is not as smooth as i think it should be,it's a little bumpy at times i have put new brake pads rotors and new tires it still rides a litte r

I would go with new shocks and struts and have the entire suspension system checked for wrong or damaged parts while they are under there.

2001 chey blazer 2dr 2wd man rides rough drive only on paved roads feels every bumo tough ride had shocks checked they said good bilstein just got this vehicle what would help if anything someone...

I would check your tire pressure, if your running 60 psi it's going to be a bumpy ride, lower the air pressure to 35 psi and see if it makes a differance, does the truck move up and down when you jump on the bumpers or is it stiff ?

Noisy rear wheel

Your wheels are probably rubbing against your brake caliper, or the dust shield.

96 Golf 2.0GTI 8v knocking noise from rear when accelerating

its probably your bump stops. the vw ones are very soft. i bought ford escort (the shape after the xr3) ones and cut them a little down to fit. i think the noise is either your shock touching or the sound of the tire scraping the body of the car. hope this helps.

The car rides rough.

Dear Alban: You may not like the answer, but the reality of the issue is this: The lower the profile the tire is, the less time there is for irregularities in the road to be absorbed. Low profile tires have very stiff sidewalls which equates into little in the way of flexing. The car was designed for 15" wheels with a totally different profile tire. There is always a trade off with ride and handing traits when big changes are made with wheels and tires. The big rims and low profile tires are the rage right now and this is a very big problem that I run across when cars come into my shop and customers complain about the ride and road noise. Whether it is a 300ZX or a Mercedes, makes no difference, I still get the same complaint. Some cars display the problem to a slight degree and others, it is very pronounced in. There is not a shock or strut in the world that will solve this problem. Your only solution if you can't live with the ride of a log wagon, is to get rid if the wheels and get something with a tire that has some distance between the road and the rim. mybunkey

Squeaky sound front left tire and 4Wheel Drive will not turn on

the squeak could be brakes or wheel hub/bearing. most likely it is the bearing and hub assembly, i would not drive it , take it to you local service station and have then replace or repair the hub assy.
