Can't really do better than a guess ...noises I can't hear aren't my specialty. It could be the bearing in the front of the alternator...when you first start up the alternator is loaded, as it puts power back to the battery that you just used when starting. You hear it more in the AM because you are standing still, the engine is cold and needs more power to start than when warmed up, and the battery has lost some power keeping clock etc going all night. During daytimnes starts the length of timne it needs to do this is shorter and requires less demand. (long explanation for a guess!!!) Either way should not be anything horrible! Trans may also be low on fluid.
good luck

Check your power steering fluid level look for leaks if level is not full. Fix it if it leaks.

Whining noise on my 2006 cadillac cts.Had the power steering pump replaced yesterday. Noise is back again today. What is it?

Have it checked that the power steering fluid is enough. If so, could just be that the system needs bleeding.

hey before you take it to a mechanic shop if you could drain off some of the powersteering fluid with a suction device and add some Lucas powersteering additive this would probably take care of it in time.. after some driving .. would save you alot of $$ Lucas is best for this problem.. just use a suction device stick it down in the powersteering pump hole where you check the fluid and **** out as much as you can then add the lucas to fill back up and drive a few days and presto.
