Removing radaitor fan motor

A radiator fan motor helps to keep your car's engine cool and in good working order. If your engine becomes overheated during a road trip, it can seize up, causing your car to break down. If your radiator fan motor malfunctions, it is essential that you replace it right away. If you are tight on cash, there is no need to bring your car to a costly auto repair shop. With the right tools and a little direction, you can replace your car's radiator fan motor in your own garage or driveway.

My ford contour 1999 is running hot we changed the thermostat but it is still running hot the radaitor fan dont look like its coming on

The radiator fan circuits are VERY LIKELY to be the cause of your overheating problem. Ford had a lot of problems with the wiring harnesses on some of the Contours. This needs to be checked.

The entire cooling system should be checked over real good.

By this, I mean that the system should be checked for the possibility of blown head gaskets (especially if it has already overheated - good change of warped cylinder heads). The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor needs to be verified to make sure it is working properly. This needs to be done with a scanner that can read sensor data. The actual temperature of the engine should be checked with a pyrometer or infrared thermometer while comparing the ECT data to see if it matches. The radiator cooling fans should be checked to see if they come on at the correct temperature (225 to 230 degrees Fahrenheit) - this also will require a scanner. If the fans are not working properly, then the fan circuits must be diagnosed.

The thermostat may also be malfunctioning...Please note that NEW and GOOD are NOT the same thing! It would not be the first time I found a NEW thermostat messing up. Again, proper thermostat operation can be verified by graphing the ECT data, or using an infrared thermometer to determine exactly when the thermostat is opening (if it is even bothering to open at all.)

Then there is the possibility of a damaged water pump that is not circulating the engine coolant properly. Also a clogged radiator is always a possibility on a 13-year-old car.

Hi, how are u all, I have a nissan sunny 1984 130 Y , with a very good condition, recently i skim the engin head, for now evry thing seems good except that the cooling fan won't work untill the temperature...

Normally the fan will not come on until the temperature is high enough to open the thermostat then your fan will come on. It sounds like it's working the way its ment to. When you turn the a\c on the fan will come on to keep your engine cool.

My 1998 S70 check engine light will come on and the heater will stop blowing hot air and the radaitor fan will start running on high. The blower will continue to work but the air temp changes from hot to...

You have air in the cooling system.

How can you tell if the water pump is the cause of it overheatig. changed thermostat, cooling fans work, flushed radiator.

it will either leak antifreeze out of the weep hole on the pump or the old antifreeze was so old that turned into an acis and ate the blades off the pump. hmmmm. you know what try changing the coolent bottle out, this year intrepid had problems with the bottles going bad, just take my advise about the bottle or go to the delearship and ask their mechanics
