Question about 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager
When car gets to about 40 mph,
trans will not shift( no overdrive) into high gear, rpms at about 3000+.
Adjusting throttle will not help tranny to shift. At aprox 40 mph I
manually shift into neutral shut off ignition for 2 - 3 seconds and then restart engine and the trans will then shift correctly for rest of the outing
including full stop at a red light, all the way back to full speed. Shut the car off, go into a store, come back out and whole problem starts over.
I replaced trans fluid and filter.
Probably a solenoid/loose connection/bad wire, but as with the answer above, get it checked now before you end up replacing the whole thing.

Do yourself a favor & get it scanned at transmission shop, or dealer & fixed as needed,(within reason) . Delaying it could cost lots of money. A rebuilt is about $1500-$2000.
