More Air Conditioning issues!!

Ok, so I may have jumped the gun about charging the air conditioner. Seems I have plenty of cold air in the rear when I turn it on, but up front it blows HOT air. Kind of like last fall when I had heat in the back, but COLD up front. We put in a new "door actuator" up front and were good all winter. Now this! Did we maybe put it in wrong? Backwards?

No, don't hear any hissing when it's operating. I just had it in the shop for a tune up, and they checked it all???

  • jsnyder99 May 27, 2009

My son did this part of it, it seemed to be moving freely. I will have him get up in there and check again! Maybe it is stuck again, although there is not knocking noise since we replaced it.

Do not know if they checked the vacuum system when they did the tune up. I know they replaced a filter for the heating/cooling system? (besides the regular air filter!) I can ask at the shop.

Did you ask them specifically to check the vacuum system? That's not included in a routine tune-up.

Sounds like a leaking, broken, or loose vacuum hose. Did you check all these? Do you hear any air hissing when you operate the controls?

It sounds like maybe the blend door is not freely moving, this will destroy the new actuator very quickly, did you check the blend door for freedom of movement when u replaced the last temperature control blend door actuator?

THE TEMP CONTROL IS ELECTRIC, SO VACUUM loose is not the issue here.

Air conditioning system, when you turn on the air conditioner the drivers side blows cold air and the passengers side blows hot air? What causes this problem?

The most common cause of this is that you have a stuck air temperature control blend door, this can be a motor actuator issue or a jammed door or both (common). To replace both parts you will need to completely remove the dash from the car to access the blend door.

98 Grand Cherokee air conditioner won't blow cold air after recharge

It sounds like your blend door isn’t operating correctly . The blend door simply is a flap that is designed to close off heater core when it’s calling for A/C , and opposite for heat . Check to see if it’s operating

Air conditioning blows hot air when sitting still, cools somewhat when at highway speeds, but not cold. Has plenty of refrigerant, compressor is working.

You have a leak & not plenty of refrigerant

Why would it try to get cold when moving at higher
rpm?

Low Refrigerant
Leaks
Air in System
Dirty Evaporator
HVAC System Doors not switching
Expansion Valve or Orfice issues
Compressor Failing
Condensor dirty & filled with leaves between it &
radiator

Problem with heating and air conditioning. The driver's side is blowing hot air and the passenger side is blowing cold air

Air Conditioner blows warm air
  1. Air conditioner system is discharged. Have the system evacuated, charged and leak tested by an MVAC certified technician, utilizing approved recovery/recycling equipment. Repair as necessary.
  2. Air conditioner compressor clutch not engaging. Check compressor clutch wiring, electrical connections and compressor clutch, and repair or replace as necessary.

You should make sure you have proper charge for sure.has your battery gone dead lately? I know on some of them digital climate controls will act exactly like this and have to be reset or go through a setup sequence.

1995 Jeep Cherokee Air Conditioner

Is the compressor engaging? If not he needs to find if a sensor issue if its fully charged or a low pressure or refrigerant condition. You can have pressure without refrigerant.
