2002 Ford Explorer - Electric windows don't work

None of the windows will work and the lock on the rear window does't work. Check several fuses but there good. There is nothing in the manuel for a fuse for the windows.

Checked all fuses and relay, not the problem so Its going to the garage on Wednesday. Thanks for the input!

It was the wire harness in the door. The wires were cracked. The machanic temperarely fixed it, but said a new harness would cost $1500 How this temp. fix lasts a while.

#1 that vehicle has atleast 2 seperate fuse boxes, 1 located under the hood, and the other either under the dash board (driverside) or on the side of the dash board also on the driverside (cant remember which1 for sure, i own the same year explorer but its getting a trans. overhaul at this time, sorry.) anyway, make sure to check both of those areas 1st. i know there is a fuse for all the window motors, but there are relays as well, check those too. I seriously doubt it would be a bad drivers door master switch cluster, but you never know. all in all i would re-check your (owners) manual once more to locate the window fuse(s) and relay(s). If I remember correctly they do have fuse and relay charts in there for sure, just exactly where in that manual I cant remember, but its in an odd spot of the manual from what I recall! I know its not much help, but it should get you started in the right direction. Good luck and let me know if you have any more ?'s.

Back window is stuck

First be sure the auto-lock is not on and that the entire liftgate can be opened.

Look for the small rubber button above and on the right side of the license plate. Try pushing that button to see if the rear window hatch pops.

If these efforts don't work, check the fuse associated with the "luggage compartment lid release switch"... it's a 20 amp fuse possibly located in slot 22.

A last resort would be removing the interior panel of the liftgate and locating the latch release for the hatch. You can find a schematic of the rear liftgate in an Internet search. Good luck!

Windows stopped working all of a sudden. first rear passenger side then the rest. how can I fix this?

Check fuses and wire harness to door for correct connection. Check on the fuse box cover as it will show a relay that can also be faulty.

2002 Ford Explorer - Drivers side door lock, rear

Aside from the fuses, your drive side power door lock may be failing to work because of a bad door-lock relay system, or, alternatively, the locking switch/button, itself, is not malfunctioning and in need of replacement.

A great handyman site that specifies the above probable causes and more is the following link:

Good luck!

Driver window would not go up. All other windows work.

Have to remove door panel and check motor by by passing switch, many of the motors have a thermal switch on them and over time they tend to get a bad connection. I have been able to in many case hit the door panel hard right over the regulator and they would start working, I doubt it is a fuse so if the motor checks good it pretty much would have to be the switch, at least that is how I would do it..Merry Christmas and Happy new year
