Question about 2004 Kia Rio

ABS warning light on permanently

Have Kia Rio (2004). ABS light comes on after driving a few miles and stays on. Garage computer diagnosed a faulty sensor on rear nearside wheel. This has been replaced today but light still on ? now the computer diagnoses a problem on the front offside wheel. Garage cannot see any problem with front N/S wheel but have agreed to strip it down and try to clean ABS ring. If the original diagnosis didn?t mention the front wheel I cannot see that there can really be a problem with the wheel or the sensor on that wheel. Any suggestions?

Hi my kia rio 2003 suddenly started to make a noise from engine

The abs light means your anti-lock brake system has detected a fault and probably isn't working. Your check engine light probably came on at the same time. Get a mechanic or someone with a car computer code reader to connect to the diagnostic port under the dash and read off the error codes to diagnose your problem better.

Hi iv got a kia rio 2003 (hatchback) but the ABS light on the dashboard stays on. The car was sitting around for a few mounths so could this be just a dirty sensor?

yes , it is most possible that the sensors are dirty or faulty.
Also it is best to check on all the wheels for the wiring , sometimes it is possible that some rodents can cause havoc.
Best to have a clean up , use jet wash and run the car for sometime to confirm if there is any fault on the main electonic control unit of the ABS.

My 55 Kia sedona my red brake warning light comes on after a few miles and stays on until i turn off engine. Also comes on injunction with my amber ABS warning light

First I would check the brake fluid level to make sure there is enough in it.Most of all It seems you have a major problem with the the ABS system which turns on the brake light as well as the ABS light.Chances are you have a couple of wheel sensors that have gone bad.Do you hear a wrrrrrr sound that increases and decreases as you go faster and slower while your driving?

I have a 2004 kia rio and check warning light has come

It may just be cold weather that's making your O2 sensor toss a code to the computer. If the car starts to chug when you drive it you will probably want to have a shop look at it.

This could be a dirty or faulty wheel sensor, a faulty ABS pump, or a faulty ABS computer.

You could try cleaning the wheel sensors by spraying them with brake cleaner, and if this doesn't rectify the problem then a garage can read out the ABS fault codes and tell you what the problem is.

Sometimes just a reset is enough to clear it.

I had the brake light switch replaced by a local dealer. Cost was $140 and it fixed the problem. Have driven the car for two weeks since and no lights and all systems normal.
