How to do a fuel pressure test on 2009 chevy cobalt

There is a shrader valve on the fuel rail. You can hook a guage to it and cycle the fuel pump with the key. Shrader valve looks like a tire valve stem. Should have a plastic cap on it and most are on drivers side.

Fuel rail shrader valve leaking how to replace

Yes it does come out. It takes a tire valve stem removal tool to get it out. And believe it or not, a tire valve stem. But before you take it out, just tighten it up. 99.9% of the time, they quit leaking. You can get the tool from any bicycle shop or hard ware store. Some auto parts store sells them. But usually the are for A/C stems. Bigger.

My 96 jimmy wont take freon? My a/c blows out hot air what can i do to get freon in it

the refrigerant must have leaked out. the leak should be found and sealed. sometimes the shrader valve in the service port will not get pressed and opened by the service fitting. either the service fitting tool needs adjustment or loosen the shrader valve just enough for refrigerant to transfer. by all means, avoid any air from entering the system, virgin refrigerant is of the esense

Car will always turn over, but will not start on certain days. At first i thought it could be due to dampness and faulty wireing. When it does start it runs smooth. The other day it started in the rain....

next ime you dont start there should be a fuel tester shrader valve just like the tire shrader valve crank it and if it doesnt start check the fuel shrader valve see how much fuel comes out and if it dribbles you need a fuel pump and filter. also the 1989 are populat for intermittent due to the ICM recieving low signals, and the theory back then was what went out first spark or fuel. ICM and cam sensor and crank sensor was just replaced, Now that was the fuel injected part, 1989 there was still carburator that was being made at that time and the popular breakdown was fuel filter getting plugged.

Hard to start first thing in morning

I found the fuel rail shrader valve core was leaking out gas overnight. In the morning no gas in the system, started it and pumped the pedal, it started. I removed the shrader valve core and put in a new one. Fixed. A shrader valve core is like the one in your tires where you put air in, if it's loose it will leak air, if the seal is gone it won't hold air.
