Chevy diesal wont start

check that the battery is spinning the engine fast enough . A slow starter seldom starts a diesel.. Check for air in the fuel system and bleed any air out . Check that the glo-plugs are working. check that the stop solenoid is operational and allowing the pump to supply fuel. check for water in the fliters / blocked fuel filter.

Fuel fliter

Near the right rear wheel well on the chassis frame is the fuel pump.
Start at the passenger door on the inside of the chassis frame. Either on your back look on the chassis frame. With a glove on feel along the inside of the chassis frame. You should find it either way.

Yes the pump could have failed. If it did you would not normally get any codes.

I have a1990 beretta it kills after half

Sounds like a fuel delivery problem. Check your fuel pump and inline fliter. Pump may be going out and not delivering enough fuel or the filter is plugged and not allowing enough fuel to reach the engine.

Fuel Filter and pump would be how I would start out my diagnostics.
Pump pressure is very important these days so You will want to test that as well.

HOW TO CHANGE THE FUEL FILTER AND WHAT KIND OF PROBLEMS WOULD THE FUEL FILTER BE CAUSING?

The fuel filter is tucked away inside the frame, located on the drivers side, right about the middle of the door. If you crawl under the truck, looking up, you will see the fliter hidden neatly behind the beam of the frame. Its very easy to take off. Buy a new filter before you take the old one off, and you will then know what to look for. Hope this helps.
