Water leak in the cargo area of my 97 Odyssey

When it rains I get enough water to soak the carpet in the cargo area of my 97 Odyssey. haven't pulled the carpet up yet, but i have looked under that compartment under the car and there were no holes. so my guess is it could be that a drain hose that's clogged.

Either the drain hose or the door gasket has gone bad and is not sealing correctly. The drain line you are talking about is located at the very top of the door. It is a long black flexible hose. You can take it off and either run water through it or take something long and pretty stiff and put it through to see if anything is blocking it

On ours the water was leaking around the tail lights. I used caulk to seal around the lights and the problem was solved.

Take it to the car wash, have some one spray just water. Spray around the back door, tail lights and any other suspected areas. Like underneath the car. While you are inside and the water is being sprayed look for signs of water entry. If someone has a pressure washer you can use that instead of going to the car wash. You will have to find the source of the water leak before finding a solution or fix for it. Let me know what you find.

Water leak driver floor board

A water leak under the dash could be the heater leaking near the glove box, or a windshield leak, or sometimes the drain tube for that area has gotten plugged up and needs to be cleared out. Most times a little blast of air pressure will do it.
Hope this helps.

Rear Rain Water leak

It can leak into the van from the top of the door and run down the gasket. Or into the inner panel behind the trim. It could also come in thru a side window or door and flow back to the lowest point.
My guess would be the tail light as you suspect.
You may have to try using clear sealer between the light and the metal. The studs may have lost their sealer where they come into the inner panel.

That sounds like one of your windows is loose and rain is getting in through the back or side windows. You can check the inside when it rains next time to see if water is dripping in and will tell you exactly where or take a garden hose or bucket of water and run it on the outside of the vehicle to see. Do one window at a time and check it by going in from the front because if it's the back if you lift it up might disperse the water and not trickle in til later.

Water in cargo area

I have the same problem and I just bought this car! Very frustrating as I bought the extended toyota warranty and am being told water leaks aren't covered under warranty. If you figure out where the leak is coming from please email me at grbenton@hotmail.com. My leak only happens when it rains very, very hard. Is yours this way too?

Water leaking into 2005 Camry 6 cyl under carpet drivers side.

I think that I can help you. It sounds like your drain-tube is plugged up. Get in the passenger side, and pull the carpet back from under the glove box. Look for a black rubber pipe that goes from a black box, and pokes thru the firewall, on the passenger side. Remove the hose from the box, and have a container ready to catch water. If water comes out of the black box, your drain hose is plugged up. Clean out the clog, and you will be golden.

Back cargo area gets soaked when it rains. dont see water leaking anywhere . seals seem in good shape.

Well, I don't believe you will find a more specific handy diagnostic article on your problem than this one, which provides the suggestion of using a garden hose to determine the leak: http://yourhandymanzone.com/Your_Handyman_Zone_How_To_Pages_Vehicle_Car_Zone_Cars_Trucks_Vans_Miscellaneous_Information_Leaking_Water_Enters_Passenger_Side_When_Rains.htm This should help. Gasket on the door has gone bad and needs to be replaced. It seems like the door gasket is not sealing properly and allowing water into your vehicle or you have a leak in the bottom of the vehicle that needs repairing. But that is more then likely not the problem
