Insert one end of the speaker wire into one of the eyes of cap socket. Bend the wire and insert the other end into another eye. If you don't see the light of the bike turn on along with the click of the engine, try inserting the wires in a different combination until you get results.

Remove the switch , by following (old post) the FSM under steering
for Ignition switch removal.
this act , unlocks the lock.
one other way, is to destroy the cylinder, (ask a thief) and turn the guts
until it unlocks,
ah ha,. the problem of too much weight on a key chain -- broke the ignition switch eh?? If not the ignition switch test the clutch pedal switch... you may get lucky there., Well,. alternatively, given the year of the vehicle, you could either modify the ignition switch with a push button, or replace the ignition switch.. Best regards Ck
If the key won't start it; it might not be the key ignition, but rather; the ignition that has a stem that goes from the key ignition down on the steering colunm. However, you can get key ignitions for them, or buy the whole steering colum then take the key ignition out of it. But, I would suggest more information is needed before I can conclude that it is just the key ignition. Hope this help~!
Yes you can replace the switch yourself, it would help to have a manual though. I have heard of this issue, but first verify that no crank signal is reaching the starter motor solenoid using a 12 volt test light while someone holds the key in the crank position, also if the car is a manual trans make sure the clutch switch is ok, it locks out the starter until the clutch is depressed. Remember a few minutes of simple tests can save buying expensive parts you don't need!
