Question about 1998 Ford Taurus
Driving down interstate went to take a left turn and car just died.no lights came on, no noises, had to have towed home. Now I have checked battery and alternator, and they are working fine, checked starter and when I tapped it with crow bar and hammer, it started working fine, when I turn the key it makes a click noise (only one) but will not turn over. all fluids are fine, checked hoses and wires, could you lead me in the right direction? I have a similar problem.........battery recharged, it started, drove down the street and came home. cut the car off and tried it again, it started. let it set overnight, to drive to work the next morning, turned the key, click...........instrument panel, lights all went out and engine didn't turn over. Alternator is new.
