92 camaro with new fuel pump won't start

Hey sorry to bother you- i am struggling with my 92 camaro- it wouldn't start, so a friend of a friend replaced the fuel pump for 450.00- then on a rolling turn at the top of the turn when i accelerated it would feel like it was going to stall- and did stall once, but started back up. he said that now its the carb- so i took it onto the freeway to "blow it out" and after getting it up to 90 or so and pumping the accelerator- it stalled and this time it didn't stast back up. really felt as though it was flooded, but that was two days ago- had it towed home and it still won't turn over...any ideas- i am a single mom and don't want to get- in more polite words- fooled...thnx for the help

Its not the carb. i have had lots of camaros and know a good bit about them... its not the carb because these didn't come with a carb. it either has a throttle body or is fuel injected.. maybe get the fuel pressure checked or try replacing egr valve and sensor...

Know the other F word you were thinking of...Did anyone change the fuel filter? Did anyone do a code check or any other testing?
If you did end up with a flooded engine, try putting your foot all the way down and cranking it. (pull the fuel pump fuse so no new fuel will enter.) This should clear it out. Back off immediately if it starts.
Then, replace fuse and have some testing done to find out what's actually wrong with it! (use a more reliable source...the friend of a friend is not your friend!)

This car didn't come with a carburetor on it. It either has TBI, or TPI fuel injection. The fuel pressure needs to be checked at the fuel rail. I would go ahead, and replace the fuel filter if it has not been done. Also if the fuel pressure drops then there may be a bad connection to the fuel pump.

This does sounds like a carb issue. Like it is out of adjustment from the fuel pump finally allowing gas to flow properly to the carb. Now that it is flooded it will be harder to start due to everytime you are trying to start it it automatically floods out. If you are concenered with your mechanic take it to another shop and have them look at it.

EGR valve might be stuck open this will cause the car to stall at a stop and also won't start. Check or replace EGR valve and sensor. It is located on the throttle body. 92 camaro has a cross injection fuel system they did away with the TBI system in the mid 80's. At least you got a good price on the fuel pump deal going price for it at the shop is $900 and up.

Last week her trooper just died, wouldn't startt. We changed the fuel pump it ran for a week again it won't start.

Did you check the fuel pressure before all of this fuel pump replacement? If the fuel filter is old enough to be clogged up, it should have been changed long before replacing a fuel pump unit. Your fuel filter should be changed every 30,000 miles. However, it would have to be TOTALLY clogged up to keep the engine from starting. It would have been causing all kinds of drivability problems LONG before that could happen.

Then, has anybody bothered to check for spark when the engine will not start? Has anyone scanned the onboard computer? (which happens to be in full control of both the fuel system and the ignition system)

You just might be trying to repair the wrong system...

There is no way anyone online can accurately tell you why it will not run without checking the vehicle first....although many uneducated DIYers might GUESS for you...which seems to be just as good as you are already doing....

My 94 z28 camaro chuggs when i punch it

sounds like a fuel pump struggling to pass its contents. try running a treatment solution in your tank. if this fails to work, you will need a new fuel pump to correct this problem. sometimes, trash will build up in your tank and it will cause build up in the jets. you should check vacuum as well if needed.
