I have a chevy truck that gears down while I go up hills or when I press the accelerator to pass someone, is it an easy fix or is it going to cost some money?

The torque converter uses oil pressure to determine when to change gear, i have come across this problem just once on a different vehicle & after hours of head scratching I done an oil change on both engine & gearbox & the problem was solved, try this but make sure engine hot before draining oil

Not step on the accelerator of vehicle automatic speed

Automatic vehicle at the beginning will automatically forward, but the speed is not too fast, because the automatic mechanism principle, high running loose throttle speed decreased than manual slow some, is a normal phenomenon. use gna 600 to diagnostic If the initial automatic acceleration, speed has a problem, the problem generally appear in the idle adjustment problems, such as: solar term door fault, the intake system leakage phenomenon, cause idle setting, you can go to your car repair station for inspection repair, in order to accurately determine fault.

Rough idle

Sounds like a automatic choke sticking....Take the air duct loose from carb..While accelerating engine spray bottle throttle spray in.....as the car tries to die...stop spraying...Repeat 3 or 4 times.....It will clean your injectors. Runs alot better...Remember....bottle throttle spray...not carborator spray

You have a failed transmission, have it removed and replaced with a factory rebuilt unit is my advice.

Have acceleration problem when passing

really need a bit more information.does the engine sound slow or is it revving quite high as you are trying to overtake another car?slow may be a blocked fuel filter and or air filter.revving but slow moving may be a slipping clutch if it is a manual gearbox,or a worn transmission if it is an automatic(although check the fluid level while idling in park, and handbrake on firmly.)
Hope this helps,if not if you can supply some more info, then I can be more precise in diagnosis and repair

Why does the engine shake when slowing down?

The engine will shake when slowing down, because releasing the accelerator drops the rpm of the engine immediately. The engine only "knows" it has slowed down and will shake the same way if standing still.

There are many reasons for the shaking. All are due to needing a tune up. Poor timing, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc.

If you need help fixing something, give me a call.

This transmission requires overhaul, it is likely the only solution, second hand units are almost impossible to find.
