1987 Suzuki samurai take 30 minutes to start in the morning only the it start OK for the day seems like it not getting gas in the morning only

the G13 or G16 engine, and 1987 year was carbs, not EFI.
so if it has carb , you need to say so.

if it starts fast with test fuel (spray)
then your choke is dead.
ever adjust a choke before.

Suzuki samurai wont stay running at idle why? will run if kept throttling

Sounds like you have a air flow problem not real familiar with the suzuki but it may have a air flow adjustment or either a set screw for idle control to maby idle it up just a little.

My 87 samurai wont stay idling it was fine then i changed my fan and alternator belt and now it just doesnt idle

My first hunch is a vacuum hose that got knocked loose. There are many, and the rather short one near the front of the manifold that bends into the tube at the manifold will go bad at the bend. Check 'em all carefully

I have an 87 samurai that has been sitting for about 8 months-ish. i started it maybe a couple times a month till i had the money to replace the rearend/transfer. now that its back together, it will start...

best guess is carb. try some sea-foam in the fuel tank and never let a carb. set with ethanol fuel alwise add some stay-bil to the tank if your going to have to let it set.

I have a 1987 Susuki Samurai, 1.3 engine. Cold start is idles at 2000 rpm up to 2200 rpm. Is this normal? Its seems a little fast. How do you adjust the cold fast idle speed? Thanks, Randy

Yeah it sounds kinda high. There is no adj except for the idle screw on the throttle, the computer does the rest, if it has one. If not, then you can adjust it some how. If carbureted, check for 2 little screws in the front, and check the choke, If throttle body, then just the idle screw, the idle should be around 1000. Hope this helps.

1987 suzuki samurai Distributor problems

First, kick his ***. 2nd,, kick your **** for allowing him to mess with your car.. LOL 3rd, Grab a drink for both of you and tackle this together. Remove the spark plug on cylinder #1. Rotate the engine till you get it coming up on the compression stroke. You can hold your finger over this to do it. (Don't be using the starter) Pull the distributor cap and mark on the distributor itself where the #1 wire should be. Now. Put something like a straw into the spark plug hole and continue rotating the engine until it reaches the top. Now look at the distributor and see where the rotor is pointing.. Your BUDDY, should know what to do next. The reason it is currently running is because the timing is too late. Whenever disassembling anything on an engine, notes should always be taken.
