Question about 1999 Dodge Caravan
Just had the power steering replaced on my van. Seems when the car has ran for a while and i go to push on the brakes and make a turn the steering wheel wants to lock up. Almost to where I cant turn. Once i release the break it is easier..
You need to take it back to the shop that replaced the power steering and tell them what it is doing. This is not normal and sounds unsafe. The brakes are a seperate system but when you apply the brakes you are adding force to the front end and weight resulting in the steering having to work harder. it could be a bad pump or air in the system or wrong type of fluid. I am guessing you did not have this problem before hand? take it back let the shop inspect it.
