Question about 1997 Volkswagen Jetta
My girlfriend was learning to drive the 2001 1.8t jettta i bought her witch is a five speed.. and of coarse being her first time in a manual she stalled it. when we started back up it makes the most terible noise and when you go to take off its like something is holding it back and then it makes a loud pop and takes off when i got back to the shop i noticed the passenger side of the motor looked like it was sitting lower than the other side and now it leaks anti freeze?? any one have any thoughts or ideas on this?
Sounds like you have a broken motor mount and the motor is now moving around in the engine compartment because there is less now to hold it in place. That's probably why coolant is leaking- broke a hose somewhere.
Not a real big deal- an honest mechanic should repair the mount for you for a reasonable price- I would guess around 100.00. Don't dump the car for this. It can be fixed!!!!
