Question about 1997 Infiniti.5 J30
I have had a bad injector in my 1993 Infinity J30 in forth cylinder (failed resistance test). Together with a friend we replaced all six injectors with brand new Bosh injectors. After this operation, the sixth cylinder started to fail. While the engine is still cold, the sixth cylinder is not working. The engine shakes and there is smell of gas from exhaust. After 10-15 minutes, the engine start to work smoothly, however some time it gets longer than 20 min. Please advise, what could cause the problem? Replacement of the ignition coil and the spark does not solve the problem. Could it be a defective injector? How to test it? Thanks. My 1993 nissan infiniti J30 coughs and chokes like it has a hairball. This happens at slow speed just as you are speeding up such as on the freeway. Suggestions? Could this be a fuel injector problem?
Switch the fuel injector from number six to number one. Does the number six cylinder still have the same problem? If so the injector is not your problem. If number six injector is fine now and number one has the problem. Then replace the number one fuel injector with a new one. It must have been defective.
