Diverter Fan broke affecting air and heat

Hi, I have a ticking noise that friends assess is my fan that is stuck on heat and my air conditioning does not work. I have been advised that my entire dash needs to be taken apart to access these fan parts to fix it.
Please help!

It is not you fan ticking. there is a big door in your heaterbox that switches from heat to a/c. alot of times the motor that turns this door gets jammed. if the motor is removed and the door turned manually, turning the car on with the motor {flap motor} removed still , turn the heat to cold, wait for the motor to stop turning, then bolt it back onto flap and you should be fine.mercedes is not perfect, sometimes you have to remove the dash to access this flap motor

its not hard, most of the screws are a philips or #8mm. the job is a timely one, about8-10 hours. the key word is memory. there are so many things that get unplugged and taken off that it could take 4-5hours to disassemble and 5-10 to figure out which thing went where and what you forgot to do, so you have to take it apart again. if they want to attempt this make shure they have room to lay the parts out on the floor, in order they came out. and no jumping order to reassemble. a video camera would be an asset.

What could be ticking noise in 2003 cavilier air conditioner.?

with a/c on, turn the fan off. is there still a ticking noise?

turn the a/c off and turn the fan of mid way. is there still a ticking noise?

If the noise is only there when the fan run then there is a foreign object in the blower/fan of the air system. need to get at the blower to clean out the box.

Air will not come out of a/c vents

Your controls are vacuum operated. Make sure that there is vacuum present...if not find the disconnect. Or, the vacuum "motor" that controls air direction has failed or is stuck.

The Air Conditioning makes a loud noise when you turn up the fan speed.

Something could have gotten stuck in there, and throwing the fan out of balance, or the bearing on the fan motor are bad, if that's the case the fan blower motor will have to be replace.

Over heating , no water in oil , no oil in water

fan clutch could be bad if it doesnt have electric fans. thermostat could be stuck shut. water pump may be bad s the impeller inside can come loose from the shaft the belt drives. dont drive until fixed as any new motor noise is sign of potential internal motor damage and may lead to engine failure.

Hi i hear a ticking coming from behind the glove box, i tried turning every thing off, it still ticks till i turn the car off

It may be the heater blower fan. It is always on when the car is running. I'm pretty sure the blower is under/behind the glove box.
Does the ticking noise change when you speed-up or slow the fan speed? If so, there may be a leaf or something stuck in the fan blades. You might have to have the blower motor removed to get it cleaned out.
Hope this helps...

Air condition noise

It may have gotten debris(leaves and such) stuck in the fan/blower housing. If it sounds like a bike with a piece of paper on the rhim(rattle), then that most likely the case.to get rid of it, you need to pull the whole blower housing out to clean it thoroughly.

1993 GMC Suburban K1500 Air Condition Fan and vent choice problem

MIKE.
#1) YOU PROBEBLY HAVE A BAD BLOWER MOTOR OR POSS. A BURNT CONNECTION @ THE MOTOR. IF THE FAN WORKS ON ALL SPEEDS EVEN INTERMITTENTLY. THEN THE BLOWER RESISTOR IS OK WICH CONTROLLS THE VOLTAGE TO THE MOTOR TO GET THE DIFFERENT SPEEDS. WHEN THE RESISTOR BURNS OUT THE FAN JUST WON'T WORK ON CERTAIN SPEEDS. THE "RELAY" IS ONLY USED FOR HI-SPEED FAN USE. TRY HITTING THE MOTOR WHEN YOU GET IT NOT TO WORK AND IF IT STARTS THN YOU HAVE A BAD MOTOR.

#2) THE NOISE YOU HEAR WHEN TURNING THE IGN. ON AND OFF IS PROBABLY THE DEFROST DOOR CONTROLL ACTUATOR/MOTOR WICH HAS A POTENTIOMETER IN IT THAT TELLS IT WHEN TO STOP MOVING AS IT REACHES THE CORRECT POSITION. WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY OFF IT BY FEDERAL LAW HAS TO RETURN TO THE DEFROST POSITION IN CASE OF FAILURE. THE LITTLE SPLINES IN THE MOTOR OR ON THE SHAFT CAN GET STRIPPED WHEN THIS HAPPENS. TRY DUPLICATING THE NOISE BY SELECTING THE DEFROST ON AND OFF WITH THE KEY ON.
I WILL CHECK FOR YOUR FEEDBACK LATER
